Okay, the Tipsy Moogle forum has gotten too big for its britches, so to speak. Therefore, the more serious story-based RPs - the ones that have an ongoing plotline and backstory that take them from place to place - will go here for now. Mostly, this is to differentiate them from threads like the Drunken Chocobo, which pretty much anyone can join without any real reading.
RP threads in this forum are different, however. Therefore, I think a few rules should be laid out.
1. Before jumping in, please read up on what's happening. Now, I wouldn't expect someone to read, say, all 20+ pages of an active thread. Not everyone has that much time. But I would expect them to read at least the previous page, so they have some idea about what's taking place. Even better might be to PM someone who's been in it for awhile, and ask them for a quick rundown of events, and maybe a suggestion of when - and how - to enter.
2. Please respect what others have written. I'm not talking about flames or reviews - I'm talking about the time and effort that participants have put into the threads here. If they hadn't put some effort into making them interesting, they wouldn't be here. But in order to make them interesting, most will have a story that evolves over a length of pages, rather than in merely a few posts. Basically, if somebody's been leading up to something - whether it be a showdown with an arch-enemy, a shocking announcement, or a dinner date with the King's daughter - please don't crash the party and ruin the moment. That doesn't mean you can't come in and play when dramatic things are happening, but it does mean that there is a respectful and mature way to do it.
3. PLEASE, for heaven's sake, no Sues or Stus. Nobody's perfect - that goes for RP characters, too. If your character excels in one area, they ought to have a deficiency in another. This isn't a formal RP, but the threads here are structured, and it kinda ruins the story-type feel to them if someone comes in claiming to be the best (or very very good) at everything, and drop-dead gorgeous, and the son/daughter of a king/queen/robot/herring/whatever, and claims all sorts of ties to all canon characters, and all that. It's very annoying, and while that sort of thing's okay (to some extent) in the Tipsy Moogle forum, it has no place here. If you're worried that your character might be a Sue/Stu, just ask.
4. No overtly sexual or pornographic situations. This should go without saying, but it doesn't, so I will. Kissing and hugging and such are all fine. Fading to black . . . maybe, on a discretionary basis (i.e., ask first). Since this is a PG-13 forum, please don't try to get your yiff on here, eh?
5. Have fun! Betcha thought THAT wasn't going to be a rule, but it is! That's right, you're gonna have fun if it KILLS YOU! *ahem*
Expect this list to grow as stuff happens.
