If you want to guide your fellow forum members to a work of art that you've discovered on the internet, but are not the author of, please follow the rules below.
1.) Post a text link to the original image or get the author's permission to host the image on your personal webspace or a resource such as Photobucket. Don't post a direct image link to the original work. Leeching bandwidth is very rude.
2. Don't claim that the work you're posting is your own if you've had no hand in creating it. Authors of fanart have no legal recourse by which to protect their work. The only reason you're able to see pieces of fanart is because an artist was generous enough to create it for strangers to enjoy. Don't be an annoying jackass who tries to take credit for other people's work.
3. If you can't find the person who created a piece of artwork you want to repost, confine yourself to posting a text link. Be certain to make a clear statement that the work of art linked to is not yours. Ask for help; somebody who reads this forum might know the artist you're looking for, and that artist will probably be happy let you repost their image on your own webspace.
If you're an artist and you see your work posted here and do not wish to have it shown on RoER, or if you notice another person falsely claiming a piece of artwork as their own, please contact any administrator or moderator of this board through the PM system on this board.
If you're not a registered user of RoER, you can send an email to any of the admins or mods of this board. Regardless of the method of contact, disputed artwork will be removed as soon as your request is received.
In addition, any RoER member who reposts another person's artwork and falsely claims it as their own will be subject to a 60-day ban.
