"Ugh...th-thanks? Um, but how did you get here, Mom? I thought you were away on holiday?" Was Ditz's only shakey response, the nezumi's body was wobbling despite standing upright. The comment made it's red-headed friend turn and give a friendly bop on the helmet.
"Yo! Ditz ahoy! Come back to reality, kid!" Firebrand proceeded to give another knock. "We need you do that thing you can do. Um, Chasta? Chomper? Cheecka?"
"Chakra? Oh, right. Uh, I remember now. Okay got it, ugh, I can smell my own burnt fur..." Concentrating as hard as it could, the knight in training began to chant. Ditz was healed for 3 HP and receives Auto Revive for 2 turns.
Seeing her friend come back to reality also allowed her to act. Firebrand attacked Abadon C for 6 damage.
Mortimmer can be seen cackling out loud, the look on his face almost resembled that of insanity. "Ha ha ha! At last, I get to try out my latest fiery invention! Yes! Behold, the power of science!" The nu mou scholar took out a large round metal casing which appears to give off sparks as it was moved. He proceeded to throw the ordinance at the group of lesser fiends and damage each of them for 4 damage and killing Abadon C.
Odessa notched her bow once more and was finally able to aim correctly, damaging the Matriarch Abadon for 4 damage.
Agatha made no comment to Frato's order, but instead followed them. She imbued it with a curing spell and used it on Graggins to heal 13 HP.
The final lesser Abadon lashed out and slashed at Firebrand, dealing 3 damage.
Graggins gave a thumbs up and a smile towards Frato. "Oiy! Thanks Lad, I needed that! I should've packed some of those myself! Don't worry, I'll pay you back after this." Then the human roused himself up and charged at the lesser abadon, killing it and allowing access to the Grand Matriarch Abadon once more.
The giant fiend did not take kindly to the news of it's children's deaths. Rearing it's head back, it roared down at the tiny band of opponents, threatening to shatter their ear drums. The attack deals 2 damage to Frato and Ditz, and 3 damage to the rest. It also had the terrible consequence of placing the Silence and Slow status effect on various members of the party.
The Sea Dogs were still using everything they could to take down the Matriarch; dealing 17 damage in total.

Frato looked rather bemused as he heard Ditz's reply. Eh? Oof... that blow must have knocked him senseless. The dragoon then smiled as Firebrand managed to knock the knight back into his senses and he healed himself.
The hybrid then began to feel hopeful once more as they wiped out the rest of the smaller Abaddons and the Sea Dogs managed to deal more damage to the Matriarch Abaddon.
That hope froze for a second as the Matriach Abaddon prepared it's counter attack. The screech from the fiend made Frato's ears flatten and he ground his teeth in pain, as well as slamming his hands over his ears. Urgh! That noise! It hurts!
Once the roar finished the dragoon looked around and gave a mental groan of despair. Urgh... that's really messed us up. Agatha being silenced is going to really hamper our healing. This is going to be a headache to sort out.
Frato thought for a moment, before then trying to issue his orders. He opened his mouth to speak, and quickly realised that no words were coming out of it. Huh? What? Argh! I'm silenced again! Damn it... now I have to mimic my orders again! Rrgh... I hope we can finish this quickly.
The hybrid then pointed towards the Sea Dogs, Firebrand, Graggins and Ditz. He then pointed at the Matriarch Abaddon and then punched his hand. Frato then pointed to Mortimmer and wiggled his fingers to try and simulate a fire, before then miming an act of pulling out a pin and throwing a grenade at the large Abaddon.
Frato then turned to Agatha and nodded at her, before then pointing to Odessa and then lightly knocking his head with his fist. Please don't hit her too hard Agatha.
Hoping his comrades had understood his orders, he reached into his item pouch and pulled out an Echo Herb before using it on Agatha.

Everyone was confused at the next set of Frato's orders but they got over it quickly once it was thoroughly explained and with the help of those that weren't affected by the silence status effect. They begun to follow their orders.
Firebrand was the most eager to attack first; charging in with both arms raised and slashing at the Grand Abadon, dealing 4 damage.
Ditz was next, throwing it's fist for another 4 damage as well.
Agatha was willing to help especially in this time of crisis. And Frato's visual message was clearly shown what actions she should take. Unfortunately for the foolish Dragoon, he made an extremely fatal mistake in forgetting one important factor about the elder cleyran.
She was blind.
Because of this crucial fact, and that no one has said anything to here, she stood there wasting a turn. She did however feel the herb being given to her hands and promptly used it; curing her of her silence.
Because the rest of the group was slowed, the Grand Matriarch Abadon was free to attack next. Hoisting her bladed arm in the air once more, she slashed down at the group of fighters. She dealt 4 damage to Firebrand (Sending her into a Berserk Status and healing for 4 HP), Ditz (who's auto-revive activates and is revived with 4 HP), Graggins, and 3 damage to Sir Frato.
Odessa was next. Still in her confused state, she notched another arrow and attempted to attack once more. She failed in her confusion check and accidentally shot Sir Frato for 4 damage, knocking him out and auto-reviving him in a matter of moments, and also healing for 4 HP.
Mortimmer understood his next order and threw out his final fire grenade, dealing 6 damage to the giant fiend.
Graggins attacked as well, dealing 4 damage, where his comrades went all out and managed to deal 18 damage.
At this point, the giant insect began to falter. Tho still shakily standing on it's powerful legs, it was clear that the creature was noticing a shift in the outcome. Survival now activating within her priorities, the queen began to slowly move it's massive bulk back towards the forest. Should she succeed to live in the next 3 turns, she will escape into the forest to survive another day and plan for the next action for her broods. Sir Frato has the option of hunting her down and ending a possible future threat of the island once and for all, or allow himself and his group to stay their hands and lick their already serious wounds. Doing the latter options will forgo any rewards and loot the Abadon might drop upon her death.

Whew. It looks like they understood me. As Frato saw Agatha's lack of response though, he looked confused for a moment. Eh? Why isn't she... GAH! She's blind! I forgot for a second... Grah! Just how am I supposed to give her any orders!? Rrk... did someone else see that who can explain it to her?
The dragoon looked around, before then mouthing a very obscene curse. He then felt a jolt of pain before falling to the ground. He got up again and was rather confused for a moment.
Wha? What happened? Huh... I must have been attacked. But what... gah! It was Odessa! Rrg... this is not going well.
Struggling back up to his feet, the dragoon looked at how the battle was going, and was happy to see the Matriarch Abaddon finally start to falter. YES! It looks to be on its last legs! Hrm? It's retreating? Hrm... we'd better finish it. It looks far too dangerous to leave alone, but are we fit enough to bring it down without getting killed?
Frato decided to look into his item pouch to try and make up his mind. Hrm... I think we can do this. We won't have long before it can make an escape, and I think I have enough healing items to try and mount one last charge against it. We have to try and bring it down.
The dragoon then picked out a Tybalt Herbs which he ate, and a Goldenrod Herb which he passed to Mortimmer. He then pointed at the herb and pointed firmly at Ditz. He'd better not be ogling the herb again.
He then gestured to Ditz and Graggins, and also pointed towards the Sea Dogs. He tugged at his armour and made a finger swipe across it, before pointing at the Matriarch Abaddon. He then held out a wait for Ditz to wait before pointing to Agatha, then Odessa and lightly hitting his head.
Hopefully there are no slip ups this time.
(Shouldn't Frato's Slow and Silence be cured since he was knocked out? I'm pretty sure only Zombie stays on you when you get KO'ed in FF9.)

Firebrand was the first to attack, whether Frato wanted it or not. The woman howled and slashed at the giant fiend, but unfortunately the Abadon's armour has returned to it's former near-impenetrable glory. She was only able to deal 2 damage.
Mortimmer was again ogling the herb that was given to him, smiling and whispering to it as if it was a sentient being. But without Firebrand to knock some sense into him, it was Ditz who had to take her place and politely clap the nu mou's shoulder with his hand.
"Um, excuse me, but I believe that herb is meant for me."
"Hmm? Ah! Oh? Hmm. Oh...oh very well. But save me a piece, will you? This is the first time I've seen such flora and can only guess was born on this island. Hmm, I bet it looks great with some ice cream as well, yes.."
"Urgh, I'll try, doctor." The nezumi received the herb and promptly ingested most of the contents, healing for 6 HP. Next the nezumi awaited for it's next order. But hearing Frato's words proved far too confusing; it was as if Frato was trying to make him do two things at once. Unable to comprehend it's next move, Ditz is stunted and loses a turn. (I keep telling you to be clear in your directions, or at least use parenthesis to state what you're trying to do)
Seeing as Frato can speak once more, Agatha clearly understood what he wanted and did what she was told. "Hmph. Attacking your allies. That's just like a demon to order such a thing instead of curing them. Cheap or ill-prepared? Either way, you're a lost cause." Done with her ramblings, the cleyran proceed to hit the bangaan woman with her staff, dealing 3 damage to her and curing her of the confusion status effect.
"Ugh. Thank you...I suppose." The bangaan woman looked down while rubbing her head. She wanted to attack the true enemy immediately but her slowness caused her to fall behind the matriarch's action.
The giant Abadon raised it's head and began to call down a powerful electric attack once more, casting Thundaga directly onto Firebrand and knocking her out of battle.
Now it was time for Odessa and Graggins to act. Odessa shot her crossbow and dealt 3 damage while the human dealt 2 damage but lowered it's armour by 1.
The Sea Dogs got the gist of what Frato wanted and switched to a tactic that would weaken the fiends armour. Together they were able to deal 6 damage and render the fiends armour by -3.

Tch... this is one time where Firebrand going berserk isn't helpful. I wonder why she... gah! Mortimmer! Pay attention to the battle! Whew... it looks like Ditz has talked some sense into him.
The dragoon then gave a groan as Ditz failed to understand his instructions, before the glowering as Agatha talked down to him again. "Grr... you criticise me for not snapping her out of it, then you nark at me for trying to bring Odessa to her senses. I just can't win with you can I?" Frato retorted.
Seeing Firebrand fall to a Thundaga spell horrified Frato for a second. "Firebrand! NO!!!" Frato exclaimed. Damn it! This stupid bug has some frightening power. We need to end this fast!
After Graggins and the Sea Dogs managed to soften the fiend up, the dragoon felt a little more hopeful. Grr... I'll teach you for taking down my student! You're armour won't save you now! You're going down!
"Ditz, Graggins, Odessa, hit that thing as hard as you can. Sea Dogs, you too! Kill this wretched fiend!" Frato ordered. "Mortimmer, use a Hextech grenade on that thing."
The dragoon then dug into his pocket for his last mid potion and handed it to Agatha. "Use this on Ditz, and imbue it with your Cure spell." Frato whispered to the Cleyran.
Having given his orders, the dragoon then charged forward and thrust his spear at the Matriarch Abaddon, hoping to deal the killing strike.

"R-right!" Ditz had to do a few double takes after seeing it's best friend get downed. Only when the nezumi was sure that it's friend was still alive was the knight able to stand up and follow orders just as everyone else was. And the young knight was the first to charge in and deal 5 damage with it's fists of vengeance.
Agatha was next did what she was told and fully healed the brown burmecian.
Frato was second and hee did managed to get a critical hit and deal 10 damage. It was not a killing blow, but it certainly had a proportionally visible effect.
The giant fiend clicked it's mandibles and roared out in frustration and pain.Spilling fluids out of his mouth and it's strength waning, the Grand Matriarch Abadon's legs buckled and it's body fell down with a ground-shaking thud. But instead of falling completely down, the fiend used the last of it's energy to stand as upright as possible. Whether it was pride or as a last resort, no one could tell. However, it doesn't seem to be making any attempt to fight any longer. It's heavy breathing could be heard as it slowly flung it's head back and forth in timing with it's breathing.
The Abadon's roar had a drastic effect on all the fiends on the battlefield. Seeing it's leader downed has destroyed their morale and the rest began to flee back into the forest. Warriors and guardians that has been fighting them cheered and shouted with glee and victory seeing the tides has finally turned. All around, feelings of relief filled the air.
But not all the fiends fell back. The children that latched onto it's abadon mother's body began to pour out of their protective hold and swarm all around her. By the dozens, the small insects created a wall of threatening hisses and swished their blades in the air to get the warriors in front of them to back off, but they made no move or sign to charge at them. Even as other surviving warriors began to head to the area and help surround the giant insect, the queen's children remains adamant and steadfast in their new role.
"They're not attacking. They're trying to protect their queen..." The nu mou scientist noted, absolutely entranced by the scene before them. "I don't know know if this is part of their instinct or loyalty. I most certainly doubt these creatures are capable of love either, but this is the first time I've seen anything close to that behavior. Absolutely fascinating! Yes!"
"Love?...I doubt it." Graggins sighed heavily from exertion and felt great relief in easing his body and hands. He looked up the the creature; it was still breathing harshly and dribbling blood and saliva out of it's open mandibles. It doesn't appear to be focusing on anything despite it's eyes staring closely at the hybrid dragoon. It's more like an empty stare as it's mind and body feverishly tries to repair itself. "I guess we have to figure out what to do with it now. Could go in and kill it finally. Relieve the island of a future threat.."
"NO! That is something that cannot be allowed to happen! Not at all, no!" Mortimmer was obviously very against the idea. He annoyingly spat out as he ranted. "Look at her! This fiend is legendary! Few among so few could ever live to it's age and grow into such a powerful entity! This is a creature that must be allowed to live! To be studied and even worshiped! This could very well be the last of it's kind and it'll be hundreds of years before another could possibly grow enough to be close as the one we're seeing now! Such a testament to evolution and age doesn't deserve to be cut down in such a barbaric fashion! You should be ashamed of yourselves for such a thought! All of you! Yes!"
"You didn't let me finish mate..." The human was wiping the rain from his eyes in annoyance. The memory of his dear friend lost was still fresh in his mind and he wanted to sucker punch the nu mou. But he controlled his emotions and continued. "We could also capture it and place it into our Hunting Biomes. Give it and it's kiddies a new home for sport and to let them grow in a controlled fashion. Frato and you lot won't get a more grand as reward as killing it yourself, but for helping us take down this creature and capturing it, I'd imagine you'd be rewarded handsomely nonetheless. We could also let it go. We don't kill off every fiend we find, you see. We often let them go to breed and create more of them to fight. But this creature...this is different. And absolutely dangerous. What do you think Lady Odessa?" The man turned to see his female friend, but the Bangaa was already gone, rushing into the dark forest to find her lost child.
The man slapped his forehead. "Oh shoot. Of course! The boy! We have to go find him! But first, Sir Frato. Since she is not here, you must be the one to decide it's fate. Do you wish to have us all kill this creature and end it once and for all? To capture it and place it in it's new biome holding? or let it go? I won't lie to you boy; I am biased here. That thing led an attack that killed a man very dear to me. Taught me everything I knew and made the man you see today. I was but a skinny stuttering weakling when he put me under his arm, now look at me. It would be good to send it's soul to the afterlife and give it to my friend as a trophy to the Gods. I'm sure he'd appreciate that."
Mortimmer already decided on what he would do. "Sir Frato! In the name of all that is Science, you must let her live in captivity and allow us to observe her for future generations to appreciate! So much can be learned from this magnificent fiend if we only kept her in the biomes. She is a wonderful part of this world and it would be a colossal waste to see it killed. Even...even if she were to die and I'd be allowed to collect it's remains. I must protest the use of force at all costs!"
Agatha can be heard scoffing nearby. "Ha! Letting a demon decide whether a life should be destroyed or held in cruel captivity for everyone to forever battle and toy with. There's no contest to what our "leader" will choose. He's no different from the one he's giving judgment to. Letting it go is out of the question, his bloodlust will never allow it.."
The rest of the hybrid's allies remained quiet, awaiting the news of the Abadon's fate that would be handed down by his hand alone.

Huh? Did I kill it? Frato looked up hopefully as the Matriarch Abaddon started to fall down to the ground. Yes! It's going down!
The dragoon then looked a little anxious as the children of the Abaddon came out and swarmed around their mother. Uh oh... this could be bad. Hrm? They don't seem to be attacking... they're more concerned with protecting their mother. That's a little strange.
Frato then listened to what his comrades made of the situation and thought about what to do with the fiend. He did feel a little irked as he heard Agatha's remark. Grr... you would want to let it free so it can murder even more of the islands inhabitants! You probably want to try and take it over for yourself to use instead of the Lava Golem! You have no room to talk!
Trying to push the thought out of his mind, he made his decision. "It's too dangerous to just let free Miriam. You really want this thing murdering more of the island's inhabitants?" The dragoon then shot her a glare. A shame she can't see my face. "Anyway, I think Mortimmer has a point. I've never seen a fiend like this, and I don't think I can just kill it. I'm sure it'll make a good boss monster for your hunt. Graggins, I can understand your intentions, but killing this thing won't bring your friend back. If you really want to get revenge though, I'm sure you can bring it down in the next hunt. I feel if I kill it I'll take the honour away from you."

Mortimmer could be seen doing an odd dance and laughing when he heard the Dragoon's decision, odder still when it was done in the pouring rain and lighting. Agatha meanwhile just stood there with a self-righteous grin on her face. It didn't matter that she was blind and could hear the excuse the hybrid made, the only thing mattered to her was that she was correct in her dark assumption and was vindicated.
Graggins stood mutely and only stared at the creature that took the life of someone dear to him, mulling over the decision that was made. After what seemed like an eternity, he nodded grimly and turned his head to the other warriors that gathered around the queen Abadon. "Oiy! You lot! Get a call to some beast tamers! We're taking this one alive and into the biomes! And get some medics over here as well!" After seeing some progress, the big human decided to make another turn and sprint off into the forest to catch up to Odessa.
Meanwhile Ditz was holding Firebrand on it's lap and checking her neck. "She's still breathing. Thank Burmece. Sir Frato, do have anything that could wake her up, like a phoenix down? Tho probably best she rests for a while since she must being stinging from these burns. Good thing it's raining, huh?"
(Mortimmer gains 20% affinity for Frato, loses 10% from Graggins, and only made Agatha happy in the worst way)

Heh, for all of Mortimmer's faults, you can at least trust him to give an honest response. Grr... stupid Agatha. How dare she have a smug grin on her face! Did she really just want me to let that thing go free? I'm not crazy!
The dragoon gave a little concerned look as he watched Graggins sprint off. Hrm. I get the feeling he's hiding what he really feels about this. I hope I made the right choice. If they can keep that Headhunter contained in there then I'm sure they can keep this huge Abaddon safely away from civilians.
Ditz's questions then snapped the hybrid back to more pressing matters. "Gah, I'm afraid I don't have any Phoenix Downs. Ditz, I think you should just watch over her for now. You might want to take her to Daniels to check over, just be sure to be careful moving her." Frato replied. "As for the rest of us, I think we should go after Graggins and Odessa. I want to make sure Ronzo is okay."
Having given his orders, the dragoon went where he'd seen Graggins and Odessa run off to.

"Damn...but aren't we always supposed to be supplied for something like this?" Was all Ditz could say after hearing Frato disappointing response. To hear it's leader's unprepared sent the knight in training's affinity down by 10%. "Well, I can't move, I don't want to leave her unattended. Can anyone else go?"
"Hmm? Oh. Not me. Must watch!" Mortimmer kept his eyes on the Queen Abadon as events keep progressing. "I must see this through to the end. And I wish to know how Bangaan Beast tamers operate on this island. Do they work like our nu mou brethren beast tamers by chance? If so, they are stealing from us and they must be brought to justice! But uh, not before I watch this...yes.."
Agatha had her own plans. "Hmph. Fine, I suppose I'll go then." Then she swirled her head and her eyebrows lowered. "And I'll let Daniels know this one's fate as well." Then she left, leaving Frato alone to go after the others into the forest.
The forest was dimly lit, made even harder to navigate through with the drenching raining continuing to assault his vision. Every so often, it was common for Frato to find bodies, fiend and warrior alike, to be strewn around. Oddly, it was noticeable that the warrior corpses looked as tho they were dragged to where they lay now and the fiend's bodies had wounds from a blunt instrument and also bolt sticking out of them. A good sign that a certain someone passed by this general direction. It didn't take long for the nimble dragoon to catch up to the hardy human, who was running at an even pace to help him search. He noticed the hybrid coming up and gave him a wave. "Oiy! Over here! I think I heard something a few yards away! Let's hurry!" They both continued to run and press forward until they come across an open clearing.
There was a small area that was but dirt and grass, with several fiend carcasses scattered about. But among them was the Bangaan warrior Odessa on her knees to the ground, her crossbow tossed down beside her. She was cradling something in her arms while she spoke in stutters.
"I-It's gonna be okay, honey! Don't worry! Your mother is here now!" Only when Frato and Graggins managed to stop in front of her did they find what was going on. Ronzo, the small child of Odessa, lay in her arms motionless save for an occasional quiver. But the boy wasn't in perfect condition. He seemed to have had been cut by a sharp blade from his chest down to his belly, and it was deep enough to expose his organs to the open air and the rain. The mother held a furiously clutching hand to his wound to close it as best as she could and prevent anything from spilling out. This prompted a weak response from the child.
"Mo-Mom? Mom? I...found...the bad guy." The way his eyes shuttered constantly and his words slurred, Ronzo seemed delirious, but also oblivious to his condition. "My tummy hurts. You're..squeezing me...too tight.."
"Don't worry about that, son! Just keep your eyes on me and don't stop talking! I'm going to help you!" The woman was in a complete panic, completely different from the hardened fighter Frato fought with just moments ago. It looks as tho she could break at any moment. In her plight, she took notice of the two men that has arrived and called to them frantically. "Graggins! Go get the healers! We need to get him aid now!"
The sight of the poor boy's condition rocked the human to his very core. He had seen such wounds before in his life of the seas and battling fiends. These were inflicted on men who were adults and older, trained for battle and service. And he also inwardly knew that such injuries is beyond the help of any non-magical vices like herbs or potions known to man. The sight of it happening to a mere child who hasn't yet experienced much of life made the man's face pure white. It took a tremendous amount of effort to get his words out of his mouth.
"My lady...those wounds...there's..there's nothing we can..."
"Oh God, Graggins! Just do it!!!" She screamed, and it was enough to get the hefty human to run as fast as he ever did in his life. The boy slightly shifted his head towards it's mother in response.
"Mom? Wh-why are you yelling? Are you..mad at me? Because..I wanted to..go outside?"
Odessa looked down again. The colour was draining from her son's face and knew they had precious little time left. "No! Not at all, honey! Just stay with me, Ronzo! Don't look down!"
"Down? Why? Did I..get hurt? I want to see..."
"NO!!! I mean..yes! You did, but it's a little dangerous! You need to keep talking to mommy!"
"Ok..ay. I hope...I get...a cool scar. I'm..getting cold, Mom.."
"Cold? Cold! Yes! I..." Odessa then finally turned to the hybrid who was the last one to stand around. "Sir Frato! Lend me your coat! Fold it over his body! Quickly!"
"Fra..to?" Ronzo shifted his head weakly again. "He's here? The..hero?"
The Bangaa had to idea to keep the young one's interest piqued. "Yes! He's here! You remember! He saved us! He's going to help you now! He's going to help you get warm! Stay still for mommy and Sir Frato, alright Ronzo?" Then she turned to the burmecian again. "Hurry! Please!"

Rrgh... I would have bought some Phoenix Downs if anywhere actually sold them. Frato gave an awkward look to his student, sensing some pink force of evil laughing at him.
The dragoon gave a sigh as he heard Mortimmer insisted on watching the Abaddon, but he then looked suspiscious as Agatha offered to go and fetch Daniels. Grr... she'd better not be planning to try and flee with him. I just hope Jack can dissuade Daniels from trying something like that. I need to find Ronzo.
Charging off into the forest, the dragoon was glad to find Graggins quickly. Phew. It would've been bad if I'd met a fiend in here. Hopefully that huge Abaddon made them all flee.
The dragoon then nodded and followed Graggins deeper into the forest. As he spotted Odessa, Frato feared the worst. Oh no... please tell me he isn't... As he heard Odessa speaking, his fear was lifted for a moment, until he saw the state Ronzo was in. Oh Burmece! That poor kid... we need to get a healer here. Geez... I hope he can pull through this.
Frato watched with a sad look on his face as a sick feeling started to burn within him, although Graggin's words stood out to him. Nothing we can do? Can the healers here not cure him? Oh no... I can't just let him die. I've got to do something! Maybe I should go and bring Daniels here... but that will be awkward. Surely Odessa would let him do his thing to save her child? Oh Burmece, just what am I to do?!
The dragoon then gave a mental curse as Graggins went off to get help. Damn it... I daren't leave Odessa here alone. There could still be fiends here. But if Ronzo doesn't get treatment soon, he'll die! Urgh... come on you little fighter! Hang in there!
He then heard Odessa calling for him to put his coat over Ronzo, and he snapped to attention. "Huh? Oh yes, of course." The hybrid whipped off his coat and knelt down to put it gently over Ronzo. "There you go Ronzo. This will keep you nice and warm. I'm going to go and get some help. Just hang tight for me, okay?"
The dragoon then got up and ran back to find Daniels as fast as he could. I don't like leaving them, but if a mage is Ronzo's only chance... I just hope the fiends are still scared of that Abaddon.

"Yes, wrap it over his chest and my hand! Tightly!" Odessa instructed, doing her best to keep calm in such a terrifying situation. She inwardly wondered how she scared she looked outwardly. "I don't care if you cut off circulation to my arm, just don't let in any slips. There! Now stand with me and help me keep him..No! Where are you going!?
The Bangaan seemed very alarmed when she saw the hybrid suddenly leave. She was about to yell at him but then finally got the gist of what was happening. "Alright, but please come back quickly! I need every help I can get! Don't waste any time!"
The passage from the forest seemed to last forever in Frato's fevered and panicked mind. The tree's and rain did nothing to slow down the man's progress. Thankfully, no fiends has appeared to halt him, apparently the fall of their mighty queen did much to their morale as to avoid any melee for the time being.
Frato returned to the scene where the Queen Abadon and it's kin were being herd by dozens of warrior. Several of them stood out by wearing odd evocative clothing made of pelts and bones of unknown creatures. These persons of special interests were seen chanting towards the queen and speaking in an odd language Frato couldn't understand.
Mortimmer was there watching it all while sitting cross-legged on the ground. He can be heard laughing and giving rude comments. "Haw! The fools are still using such retro traditions? We nu mou grew out of that egg hundreds of years ago! These barbarians really are savages!"
Beside him was a thankful site for Frato; Agatha and Daniels, who were standing beside the scientist and watching the event fold before them. Oddly enough, the moogle Hack was no where in the vicinity.
"So you see, my little Daniels. Your so called 'leader' decided to have this fiend captured for these peoples entertainment." Agatha can be heard gossiping behind Frato's back. "He claims to be saving lives by not killing it or letting it free, but he think we're too stupid too realize how many lives will be taken when that thing is released into the Hunt. Childish, wouldn't you say?"
Daniels stood there mutely, just watching the creature. There was awe in his eyes as he watched the fiend get taken in, but there was also a hint of pity within them as well. "Hmmm. I'll know more when I get the further details and get his side of the story, mother. I do not doubt your words, forgive me. I just want to..Oh!" It was then that the cleyran finally noticed the dragoon's presence and turned to him. "Sir Frato, I was just thinking about you. I'm glad to see you are alright. But...is something wrong? you look pale."

Good. At least it seems Odessa understands. I just hope I can find Daniels and Agatha quickly. If that old bat has run off with him now, I'll kill her with my bare hands! Gah... just how far away is this? This seems to be taking forever!
The dragoon then rushed back and felt a little relief as he spotted Agatha and Daniels, and he wasted no time moving over to them.
"Daniels, Agatha! You have to come with me, now!" Frato said with a sense of urgency. "It's Ronzo! We found him, and he's severely injured! You have to save him! Follow me!"
The hybrid then tried to drag Daniels after him and started rushing back to Odessa and Ronzo, not even waiting for a reply.
(Rarity! Woods! Jewels! Dogs! Hole! Taken! Save her!!!)

"Ronzo? You found him? How is his condi-" The cleyran didn't get another word in edgewise. Daniel's felt his hand being tugged and he was lifted temporarily off his feet. The moment he was back on ground, he did his best to keep up with the hybrid even as they ran through the forest in a haze of rain and trees. Agatha was following close by. Despite all the trap sounds of rain and lightning, the woman proved surprisingly resilient in it's pursuit of the burmecians.
They were not attacked by any fiends during their run and arrived on the scene. Odessa was still kneeling down with her injured son; still clutching the boy's belly doing her best to keep him conscious. The woman looked about to collapse from relief upon seeing them come.
"Oh thank the gods, you returned! You've bought the white one, I forgot your name. Are you a ehaler? Please! You have to help him!"
Daniels seemed out of place at first, since he wasn't carrying any medical supplies was still in incognito. But he reasoned to himself that he could at least give a professional opinion. The cleyran walked up and knelt down as well, carefully lifting up Frato's coat and looked at the boy. The bangaa and dragoon found no solace in the white mage's next reaction.
"Blessed breath of Burmece..." The man uttered out loud, possibly unintentionally. His muzzle hung open in shock over what he has seen.
"Daniels! What's going on!?" It appears not being able to see and the cleyran's reaction was finally making the woman anxious. "How is the boy?"
"I...I...he..." The white mage could only mumble in gibberish, completely feeling helpless at this point. "Madam. I'm sorry. But...it's best you say your last words an-"
"No! Don't tell me that!" Odessa's convictions only grew stronger out of fear. "He will live! He was born a warrior and he will survive this wound! My son is no weakling! And you are not dressed as a healer, so I can't trust your word!"
Daniels was mute for a moment, stung by the woman's words. He looked down at the boy once more. Ronzo's face was losing it's color all too quickly and his breathing was becoming raspy. The rain and the terrible wound made the boy shiver uncontrollably. He has never seen anything so fragile in his life. And it was because of what he'd seen that made him more resolved in his next move. He turned to Odessa once more and lowered his eyebrows in intense concentration.
"Ms. Odessa. I am indeed a healer. And I will save your son. Please lower him onto the ground."
The Bangaa looked at him incredulously. "What!? You can save him? What are you going to do? Do you have some sort of surgical skill or miracle herb?"
It took another point of time to answer. "No. Forgive me Ms. Odessa, but we have lied to you. I am no thief or a fighter. I am a mage. A magic user that is trained in white magicks. And I intend to use magick to heal him."
"What!?"
"Ms. Odessa. Please remove him from your hands and pla-"
"NO! STAY AWAY, SORCERER!!!" Now beyond her motherly instincts, she grabbed her crossbow and aimed it instinctively at the cleyran's head. "Don't you dare curse my son with your diabolism! I won't let you touch him!"
But the white mage held his ground. Daniels resolve was immovable. "Forgive me, my lady. But I will not. Not while I have the chance to save this child. I WILL save him, and there's no threat you can make that will stop me!" He began to hold his hands close to each other in front of him and it began to glow in power.
"You monster! Don't you know what will happen to him afterwards!?" Odessa hold over her bow was shaking both out of rage and fear, but all knew her aim would still be perfect. "I swear to every God in every religion known to man, I will shoot you down if you try to release anything onto my son! Step back now!"
Even Agatha was getting nervous from the scene unfolding for her, trying to come up with a solution. "Wait, woman! Couldn't you just allow him to heal and don't tell anyone that the boy was healed by magicks?"
"NO! It doesn't work like that!" Odessa screamed in defiance. "We are a proud people, and my family line is one of the most proudest of all! And by now, Graggins will be telling everyone about the wound. no one will believe it healed naturally! I will not lie just to save face or...or..." In her desperate hour, she turned to her friend. "Sir Frato! Stop your friend from cursing my child! Keep him away!"
"Sir Frato, please!" Now it was Daniels calling out to his equally valuable friend. "Calm her down! Tell her that I'm only seeking to aid. I only wish to save the child! I can help him!"

Frato frantically ran dragging Daniels along, desperate to get to Odessa and Ronzo again. Thankfully nothing appeared to bar their way. I just hope we get there in time! Hang in there Ronzo!
When he heard Daniel's reaction, Frato's heart sank. Oh no... please. Don't tell me you can't do anything either Daniels! Your magic has to work, it can reattach arms for Burmece's sake!
He then listened as the Cleyran confessed about his magical prowess, and gave a mental groan as Odessa reacted with fear and told him to stay away. He did grow rather fearful as the Bangaa mother threatened to shoot his friend though. Whoa!!! Odessa, there's no need to go that far! Come on, just listen to reason!
"Agatha, go and bring Mortimmer here. The islanders might believe that he was able to stitch Ronzo's wound closed and treat him with his potions." Frato told the elderly Cleyran, thinking quickly. "Odessa, please let Daniels treat Ronzo. You heard Graggins, he didn't think the healers here could do anything for Ronzo, and the longer we wait for him the less chance Ronzo will have of surviving. Is this fear of magic really worth throwing away Ronzo's life over? Please, just let Daniels treat him, I beg you."

Before Agatha could even react to Frato's urgent request with a snarky comeback, 'I'm blind you idiot! How many time's do I have to tell you?', Daniels cried out hope breaking news.
"No! There's no time, Sir Frato! We have to act now!" The cleyran was now raising his arms in preparation of casting a spell. "We only have precious little time left! Please, stop Ms. Odessa from aggravating the situation and give me the space I need to save the boy!"
"Don't you dare, Sorcerer! I swear I will end you, friend or not!" Odessa threatened once more, her bow squarely aimed at the white mage's face. Both are standing a few feet apart from each other in an extremely tense standstill. She then took her eyes off of her target and looked towards the only person that could understand her situation. Her face was filled with fear and the rain hid the tears that ran down her muzzle. "Sir Frato! Please! I ask not just as a friend and a warrior, but as a mother! Don't let this man destroy my son's life! You've seen what happened to those that have been meddled with magic, you know there will be no mercy for anyone, not even a child! He will never live peacefully if he becomes tainted with magicks! My son's dreams of becoming a warrior will never come true and he will be forever hunted and shamed! Please, I'm begging you, don't let my baby grow up knowing nothing but misery and despair! If he should die, then at least he'll die as a warrior that fought to the end!"
The Bangaa's argument was sound, it even made Daniels almost second guess himself. Almost. But the cleyran still held on to his hopes and resolve, his hands still held the spell he wanted to use. Then he too faced his burmecian friend. "Sir Frato! I am aware of the problems this child may face afterwards, but you and I both know that saving this boy's life goes beyond all other culture and laws that govern anyone else! As long as we are dedicated to protecting and saving lives, we have to save him at all costs, no...no matter the consequences! We can find a solution for the problems after we save him! If we let him die, I can promise you we will regret it for the rest of our lives! You told me once that you have honour and you respect life, nows your chance to prove those words! Sir Frato, help me save this child before it's too late!"
A sudden cough came from Ronzo, blood came spurting out and down the poor kit's cheeks. Both parties saw this as a completely new and dangerous sign that they can no longer ignore.
"I'm sorry, but I can't hold out anymore!" Daniels shouted atop his lungs, the cry giving him newfound strength and resolve. "I have made my decision: I am going to save this child! Blessed Burmece! Give me strength in my hour of need! In the name of all that is holy, I CALL ON THE BODY AND SOUL OF YOUNG RONZO TO LIVE AGAIN!!!" The cleyran's hands lit up in a bright aura of light as he went for the Bangaan child.
"NO YOU DON'T!!!" Odessa gave a thundering battle cry of her own, screaming out in an anguished wail as she loaded a wicked bolt to her crossbow and aimed. They say in times of complete stress and disaster, time seems to slow down and you can watch everything in slow motion. Daniels can be seen slowly charging at the pitiful Ronzo on the ground with his glowing hands arcing down forward. Odessa still stood there as she positioned her weapon towards the white mage and her fingers can be seen moving the trigger towards a terrible conclusion. Frato knew both Daniels and Odessa fully intends to finish their action and threats to the end, and he also knew that can't solve this with any simple solution. The Dragoon must make a terrible choice.
Should he stop Daniels to save the child from dishonour, thus letting the child die and tainting his own Dragoon honour forever? This will also have a terrible effect with his friendship with the white mage and everyone else who hears about his decision.
Should he stop Odessa to save the child's life from death, thus ruining everything he has ever achieved on the island and risk a terrible backlash from it's people? This will also cause future problems for the Bangaan Mother and Child, who will be made to suffer greatly because of it.
Whichever decision, Frato must FORCE the choice if he ever wants to make any outcome possible. Not making any decision is also possible, but it may lead to an even more terrible fate.

The dragoon frantically held out his hands in an effort to try and calm Daniels and Odessa down as his words seemed to have little effect. Oh no... they're not paying much attention to my words. With the way Odessa is pointing that crossbow, this could end really badly.
Frato listened to Odessa and found himself questioning his decision from her impassioned words. Urk... would it really be so bad for Ronzo if he gets healed by magic? Would the islanders really hunt him down instead of the healer? Urgh... I'll never fully understand the crazy customs of this island.
Daniels managed to help reassure Frato that letting him heal Ronzo was the right move though. He's right. How can dying be better? If he is outcast here for being healed, we can just take him back to Burmecia with us or something.
Frato's eyes then widened as Daniels decided to act of his own accord, and he looked horrified as he saw Odessa preparing to shoot the Cleyran. "ODESSA! NO!!!" The hybrid screamed, before then acting on impulse. He thought only to try and save Daniels from being murdered in front of his eyes, and he charged straight towards the Bangaa mother and tried to tackle her to the ground to stop her firing a lethal bolt at the Cleyran.

Daniels decides that he should rebel, revealing himself as a white mage and the oath he took. He cures Ronzo despite both Frato and Odessa's roars of outrage, and Ditz tries to stop the friends from killing each other by standing between them looking very uncertain. This delay enable Daniels to flee with Ronzo into the wilds and return to the convicted elder before escaping the island on their own small boat. The poor Bangaa boy is unconscious and oblivious to his fate due to his severe injury.
Odessa screams and then cries, overwhelmed as her baby boy can no longer return to his birthplace. She rushes off in pursuit, determined to murder Daniels for his betrayal.
Frato knows his words will be wasted, and is dismayed at the loss of his best healer and most moral friend. He heads back dejectedly to the port, hoping to head back to Cleyra and focus on what awaits him back home. After the brutality and willful disregard for survival here, he is keen to return to friendlier soil. Ditz and Firebrand follow their mentor home.

"Sir Frato, the sailors says they can see land!" Ditz opened the door to Frato's cabin, the Dragoon-in-training's helmet can be seen bursting in and the burmecian's voice excitedly shouted. "We're finally back in Mist Continent! Praise Burmece, we can see home again! I hear Jack and Dr. Mortimmer are already heading up to the deck. Too bad Firebrand can't come with us, since you have sent her to help the sailors with cleaning duties. Would you like to come up with me and see it too? Albeit everyone back there will be excited to see us again!"
