I'm trying to think what you need for me Allen to finish my character sheet up. I need some equipment, and I'll likely just go with something standard for an elf cleric, not to rubbish but not so unreasonably expensive either.
I won't ask for any fancy items either, just the usual stuff: water bag, clothes and dagger. Maybe a few foodstuffs an elf is likely to keep as well.
Spells are arranged according to level, I don'tthink I get a choice. I think that really covers the rest of my sheet.
Also, do you think I ought to change my characters name? Or shall I just go with Freyr?

you might want to change it, as Freyr's Reach is the name of a northern coastal city on the continent. As for the equipment, I can purchase it for you, if you don't want to. As a cleric, you have to prepare your daily spells every 'morning' (ingame). Unless I'm mistaken, you get to pick from the entire spell list for your level, but only up to your maximum number of spell slots. If you want to cast a spell twice, you have to prepare it twice.
Just FYI, if you're finding all this spell work too difficult, you can change to a class that doesn't have as much micromanaging.

Okay, I think I'll go with Jace for my character's name.
Are you gonna be really strict with my character's spell preperation? I like to play mage class characters, but I like to think they can just conjure whatever they need at the time. I hate this weird rule about pre-casting or preparing the spell way before it is cast, or may never be cast.
What spells can I chose from anyway? And how many do I get?

Just because the sheer logistics of spell choice is such a pain in the ass, I'm going to work it almost the same way as a sorcerer does it: You can cast up to 10 spells per day, though it doesn't matter what spells they are, just so long as you are a high enough level. There are items that can recharge your spell slots. the spells are listed at this address. *NOTE* you automatically know all cure spells at your level. They do not count towards your 'known spells'

Yay! But does it matter what level the spells are? I'm sure 10 spells of level 0 spells is not the same as 10 spells from the highest level spells. Also, looking at that, I see Clerics don't know Burning Hands...

nope, no burning hands. Also, thanks for pointing out my omission. As a level 1 cleric, you have access to both level 0 and level 1 spells.
Now, quit worrying about details for awhile, and go post in the RP thread!

As Orn was saying, the Favored Soul is more for a Sorcerer-Based Divine Caster, except for the fact that they aren't as crunchy/squishy. That might be easier. And I've already posted my currently prepared spells here, should I list them in the RP forum in my next post?

I don't have the dragonlance campaign setting. Character creation is taking too long; therefore, I decree that the game will begin! Just take the damned spells and be done with it! The point of this is to have fun playing, not bickering over character creation methods!
Rob, I know this is going to sound harsh, but POST IN THE ACTIVE THREAD! YOUR CHARACTER IS GOOD FOR NOW! If you don't either start participating, or give me a very good reason why you aren't, I'll replace your character with a NPC. I'm sorry, but this is just taking too long, and I don't want to kill the fun of the game by worrying over details </rant>

Hmm, what say I RP a human fighter?
We seem to be lacking one. According to my players handbook 2. we CAN do a campaign without a fighter, it's just VERY difficult.

We can do it if the cleric is very level-headed and well armored, plus, Armor isn't the only thing that can give us strength. For example, the Ninja gets the ability to dodge stuff. Pretty much, as long as we keep our heads cool, we should be fine.

Uh, Allen? Can you seriously send me a revised copy of my character sheet? Did you fix up what I needed to fix?

As soon as i read D&D rules and finish FF9 i'll take a break from my constant websurfing and comic reading, to make my character. In fact i'm taking the whole of next weekend off for FF9 alone. (those cactoids aren't kicking my butt this time)

Um...sorry to tell ya this but the D&D thread has been dead for quite a while now. Unless you convince Allen to make some sort of revival effort I wouldn't bother with the character sheet. However, if you are interested in roleplaying, you might want to look at ROER4.
