I had an idea for a new type of RP, inspired by a new MMORPG game known as Earth Eternal. I will go into further details later, but pretty much it will involve elements from RPG video games.
The story takes place in a medieval setting in a world known as Betelgeuse. Pretty much there are no humanoids in this world; there are pretty much anthropomorphic creatures. The theme will be a quasi-apocalyptic sword-and-sorcery theme.
As I said, I will get into further detail later (for some reason I am lacking in imagination right now). Basically, here is a template for characters that I would like: A name, a race, an age, a gender, a physical description, and a class.
As for the races and classes, I shall provide them now. If there is a type of animal you would like to have a race for but is shown here, feel free to make up your own. *Canis: dogs, wolves, or foxes *Felix: cats *Roned: mice or rats *Scave: raccoons or badgers *Tolen: squirrels or skunks *Ursa: bears *Smiw: hogs *Blis: deer *Lepus: rabbits *Avia: birds *Slith: reptiles or lizards
Classes are as follows: *Duelist: Weapon experts. They wear body armor, and can use shields. Their abilities involve striking the enemy. *Scoundrel: Sly opponents. They wear vest armor, and can use shields. Their abilities are for taking advantage of the enemy. *Dancer: Skilled dancers. They wear vest armor. Their abilities are used for strengthening themselves and allies. *Druid: Divine casters. They wear body armor, can use shields, and also are able to use magic staves. They mainly use defensive magic, and can unleash rock, plant, wind, and psychic-related spells. *Sage: Adept fighters. They can wear body armor. They are skilled at both physical and magical fighting, the latter using mainly psychic powers. *Sorcerer: Magic users. They wear vest armor and can use magical staves. They mainly weaken the enemy or destroy them with fire, ice, and lightning.

Hrm, sounds interesting. I might play as my mostly unused cat characters from the Drinking Pit and get more use from them. Or I might use someone else...*thinks*
That is of course whether you get enough people to run this. C'mon peeps! Let's get an active RP going for the ROER boards!

Rob, I concur. After RoER2 pretty much curled up and died in a corner, I was hoping for a good RP with RPG elements.
So, as promised, here is more info. I will include a backstory, as well as more in-depth info about the races, classes, and the world known as Betelgeuse. Also, I'm not sure if I should make a .pdf with game info on it, as I have written all my stuff down on line paper IRL and do not wish to type it all out on the computer.
Backstory: Long ago in a realm distant from our own, there were two divine powers who created a world of their own. One was known as the mother, Renova, who created the life in the world. The other was known as Scora, the Chieftain of Spirits, who assembled the world and created spirits which would hold esoteric power over the world.
As of the world's Middle Ages, all seemed well in the world. Renova had created creatures that resembled her: animal-like humanoids known in general as Anima. Most resembled woodland creatures, but some were different from them, such as the cat-like Felix or reptilian Slith, for example.
All indeed was well, until the various spirits began to fall under control under one particular being. In order for good to exist, there had to be a being of pure evil. That being is known as Reiga, a rival of Renova and Scora. Reiga, using her evil powers, began to generate more and more fierce monsters in an unprepared world in the beginnings of a plot for world domination.
Though these rumors of monsters and fiends have been kept secret from most of the public by the various royalties of Betelgeuse, there are some such adventurers who would dare deny such cover-ups and even go as far as to hunt down these monsters, either being secretly hired to do so or otherwise going out on their own.
Classes: Of the main types of warriors and wizards, there are six which are commonplace in Betelgeuse. *The knight in shining armor, the weapons master, and the fighter who challenges others on a regular basis to fight are all Duelists. Duelists come in all shapes and sizes, with different social classes and standings, but all have one thing in common: they are skilled with their weapons.
*The thief, the average Joe combatant who uses whatever means they can to survive, and the clever rogue are all Scoundrels. Typically scoundrels come from poorer communities or are founded from skilled peoples or Thieves' Guilds, but all of them are experts at exploiting their foes' physical weaknesses.
*The bard, the circus performer, and the temptress are all Dancers. They often travel the world, showing off their skills in circuses and fairs, but all of them who are considered fighters have one secret to their success: the fact that their dance steps secretly evoke the work of the spirits.
*The priest of Betelgeuse's main religion, the magical healer, and the geomancer are all Druids. Preferring to disconnect themselves from the 'modern' world, they typically prefer to revel in nature, and any true druid knows how to tap into spiritual power to manipulate the forces of nature.
*The psychic, the spiritualist, and the zealot are all Sages. They take pride in their wisdom and their versatility in the arts of combat, yet they commonly have animosity towards those who do not believe in the supernatural. Nevertheless they intend to show the truth of the spirits' existence by tapping into the powers of their own spirit to unleash psychokinetic powers.
*The old wizard, the alchemist, and the lore master are all Sorcerers. Though most are fragile, they do not need to be physical in their common lives as they are usually higher-class peoples, yet some prefer to live simply like the druids. Any sorcerer worth his or her salt can unleash debilitating curses as well as use the powers of flame, coldness and electricity to harm foes.
Races: *The Canis race are an interdependent people loyal to their friends and family. Most are mildly strong, but almost all also possess high stamina. *The Felix race are a people who are typically loners, preferring to do things their own way. Most are quite intelligent or guileful. *The Roned race are known to have big families. Most are fleet of foot and dexterous to boot. *The Scave race is typically a clever and sly race. Most are highly resourceful. *The Tolen race are typically a very average-acting race. Most have an impeccable sense of balance and are highly acrobatic. *The Ursa race is typically a docile race until provoked. Most are considered the strongest of all the Anima races. *The Smiw race is typically a hardy race, if not gluttonous at times. Most seem to be built like tanks. *The Blis race is often the most forgiving and gentle of the races. Most are graced with high speed, but are usually fragile. *The Lepus race are a curious people, but sometimes easy to spook. Most have powerful legs which allow them to leap far and high. *The Avia race is known and renowned for its love of music. It can typically fly, but its bones are easy to break because they are hollow. *The Slith race is a sly race that prefers to stay in the shadows. Most are sensitive to heat and cold, yet are fairly strong and possess weak natural body armor in the form of scales.
The World of Betelgeuse: The world is much like Earth; it is a world of various types of land, from flowing meadows to dense forests to scorching deserts and frozen tundras. Kingdoms can be found in various regions, towns and villages darting the land. Our adventure will start in a village near a castle. The town will be known as Sarai and the castle known as Castle Mallard.
Also, if one wondered, here are the types of weapons that can be used: Light blades (such as knives and rapiers), swords, axes, maces, magic staffs, polearms, whips, and knuckles. Any class can use any weapon save for the following clauses: dancers and sorcerers cannot use axes or maces at first as they interfere with their delicate magic weaving arts due to their weight.

*nods* Rob, Denton, if you wish, feel free to make your characters. In addition, wanted to debut a new class...
*The martial artist, the pugilist, and the spirit energy warrior are all Fighters. Some spend much time in meditation and seek enlightenment, while others save such things for their sensei or sifu and prefer to use their power for self-defense. Either way, the 'best' fighters are not only able to perform superanima feats of strength but can unleash mighty spirit energy powers.
