Burmecians in oblivion (BIO) is eventually going to try to be what BIM was going to be like for Morrowind (at least from what I gathered) But i am Very inexperienced with the SDK so it might take a little while to get to that point. I'm Just concerned with making the race right now But it is the first race mod I've done... As long as i can find a good mesh program though i shouldn't have to much trouble (I hope) So ill keep everyone informed with my progress Current progress: Stats: 100% Body mesh: Beta (Cant do a darn thing on them without oblivion CTDing) Face mesh: Beta (Same reason as body mesh) Ear mesh: Beta (you know the drill) Tail Mesh 100% Textures: 7.5% another update: Well i got some good news the author of the soqui race mod (Here) has given me permission to use his face mesh for the burmy race and i thickened up the tail a bit Picture: Screencap Showing tail, and faceBetter or worse tail wise? bit o good news i can work on the textures with gimp so Hopefully ill have a good enough texture for a beta version soon enough

Personal opinion: waaaaay too thin. It's even thinner than the tails of stock oblivion rats! If this mod is going to be anatomically correct, the tail should begin fairly wide where it's attached to the base of the spine, and slowly tapering off.
The length looks to be about good, though it couldn't hurt to make it longer. Also, it's great how I've finally seen an oblivion tail that doesn't clip through clothing horribly. Is it keyframed (ie does it move naturally)?

Like Bob said, waaay too thin. Nice to see someone still trying though. Plus, if I manage to get it running, I could play with it!

Is it keyframed (ie does it move naturally)? It moves with the standard oblivion animation (if thats what you mean otherwise no) but it seems to move alot more than standard oblivion tails ill see if i can post a little video on it after i make some more adjustments (thickening and such) ill see what i can do about making it a bit longer (crosses fingers and hope oblivion doesn't hate me and crash) But thank you for the feedback

Tail looks a lot better, the face doesn't look at all right, far too short, it looks more like a pig face right now. Still, you have a lot of work still to do on it anyway.
Also, edit your posts rather than double-posting. The mods don't like it.

Tail looks much better, the face will need some work done on the length and the shape of the nose

Alright face needs work, that being said its going to be hard to do with blender as it doesn't seem to like that head mesh and glitches every time I use it. So I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to edit the face at all unless i can use some other program or make a new one from scratch. The pig face has a little bit to do with the texture. I'm probably going to work on a texture that will make it seem longer without actually adjusting the mesh if i can't get the software to fix it.
But yet again thanks for the feedback

for 3d editing, there is no program like 3ds MAX. Unfortunately, it it prohibitively expensive, or illegal. I've heard of addons for it that allow one to 'paint' a texture on a mesh. HAven't found anything specific yet though.
As for the BIO meshes, the tail looks much better, and the basic shape of the face is looking good so far, with the modifications already stated. However, the ears look exactly like stock elf ears. From most of the Fanart I've seen, they should be a fair bit longer.
All in all, a great start!

Looks good, but I was just wondering; while the disease resistance is useful ingame, what are your (lore) reasons for including it?
Also, in case you want to include another ability, I suggest Lancer. It could fortify a character's speed and blade for a short time, maybe with a custom sprite (if possible)
Any luck with the ear meshes? Perhaps reverse engineering Khajiit ears would make things easier?

No luck with the ear meshes yet but i'm still trying to get them to work
When I though of the reason for the disease resistance one thing came to mind that Burmecians had to have strong disease resistance to even survive in their capital of Burmecia, So they have built natural resistances to most diseases because of the eternal rain.

I'm glad to see that something has been going on with BIO. Though It hasn't been updated, I am sure that work may have not been stopped. If you need any help with Meshes, I can help. However, I can't texture as well as other modders.
I spent a large amount of time learning to rend with blend, if you want to know for how long just look at the date of my last post. That's a rough estimation, and why I haven't posted anything.
3 months of making swords, and armor for personal use. If you want to enlist my help, or screenies of my weps. Don't Hesitate to ask.

It's Utterly Amazing... Oh, and based on the readme, the author (Vitross?) plans to do more. ---Here is an excerpt from the readme--- . Planned Features * custom eyes * Burmecian companions * custom Burmecian clothes/armor * alternative tails * more hairs * City of Burmecia in Oblivion (lol) ----End Excerpt---- (I did not add the lol, I assure you.) It all sounds nice. I was in such shock when I found out it was finally release. Kudos to all, see you soon! (Second Edit) Whew. Back. It's good. I sorta over reacted. It still has issues that need to be resolved, but the Author has done an excellent job. The hair clips, but is fine. The face of the burmy at lower computer settings is a bit chewy, however, it is good. From a Distance, the burmy looks great, even better then the Vexend, and Wolven mods for Oblivion. Close up kinda makes me shiver. Creepy! I cracked it open with blender and the vertices were a bit mangled from what I was used to... It still needs work, but it's beta, so it will become better. If I had a better computer I would turn it up to very high. Since my comp is a 2005 model, it cant keep up with those settings. pity. It is quite a work of art... It also just about hits the nail on the head. Kudos to the author, and sorry for being annoying and not posting much. (Third dam edit) It doesn't seem like the author is vitross, or else this lesser power would have been included... www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrZ2qZPLWaQI still am confused as to who made it the Burmies mod... Vitross was the only one on the Bethesda boards who discussed making it. Can someone enlighten me?
