"The Black Mages had already broken through the North Gate and had attacked and practically destroyed Gizamaluke’s Grotto with their destructive fire magic. The Alexandrian Invasion of Burmecia was marching forward, and the armies were now headed to the gates of the Burmecian city itself to continue their attempt at genocide.
The Burmecian soldiers were all tightly formed at the Southern Gate, with a line of Dragon Knights behind them, including Sir Frato, a nezumi-human hybrid with exceptional battle prowess. They lie in wait and anticipated the oncoming march of Black mages and Alexandrian soldiers.
Also at the scene, stood a lone priest, who casually stood several feet behind the formation of soldiers and knights. Berelen was the King’s messenger, and he was presumably there to act as a messenger and run at the first sign of the Burmecians losing the battle and when his life would be in grave peril. As the guards waited for the black mages to arrive, the priest was saying prayers, his hands glowing a shade of bright red as he chanted.
Soon, the mages were spotted through the Mist, and without missing a heartbeat, the Burmecian soldiers charged towards them with daggers, short-swords and spears at hand, primed to strike. The black mages were a little slow in readying their fire spells, but a unified chant of “KILL!†rang through their ranks before several Burmecians slashed them down with their weapons. The remaining mages then unleashed their fire magic, knocking down several of the guards at once."
