Here we can discuss everything Final Fantasy 9 related; wether it's wanting tips or tricks on how to complete the game (seeing how many people are restarting the game), wanting to know if some rumours were true about the game (wether you can recruit Beatrix and Fratley into your party), or just have questions you can use a discussion on about.
Here's one Fae got me on (or was it Orn...damn my memory): what average lifespan would you say a Burmecian has? A human's or so? A real rat? (3-4 years...heh yea right XD)
Go nuts

Considering how a Burmy has humanish characteristics, I'd say the normal span of a human ^^

(3-4 years...heh yea right XD) Might want to be careful there, that could be fanboy bait. =P On topic - There was a rumor that you could get Fratley in the party (it was originally posted on UFFSite years ago), by beating Ozma, then heading back to Burmecia with Freya in the party. Or something like that.

I'd say around the lifespan of a human too, maybe a little longer.
You know, the Cleyran High Priest says "I haven't seen anything like this since we first settled here." That would imply that he was alive then the group of Burmy's first went and built Cleyra, meaning he's over 100 years old! Either Burmy's can live a looong time, or Square made another little mistake.
The original Fratley rumour was you had to beat Ozma with Freya dealing the final blow, then return to Burmecia where you first meet Kal and Wei. Then you meet Fratley and an alledged cut scene begins, after which Fratley joins the team with a powerful spear equipped and Freya gets a multiple-hitting Dragon move. It's complete rubbish of course.

Actual hint; let Freya win the Festival of the Hunt, equip Quina with the Coral Ring won, and make sure she has lvl (4?/5?) death. Halfway through Gizamaluke's Cavern, climb the ladder to get above the mist. Use Quina's death spell on the grand dragons; they're a multiple of (4/5), and should die quickly, for great profit. The Coral Ring should protect Quina from their magic.

Here's a question: At the end of the game, how are the relations between Alexandria and Burmecia? With Dagger at the helm of Alexandria, is she trying to make up for the damage Brahne caused?

I would imagine that Queen Garnet would give the aid they needed, to make up for the damage. Don't forget that Alexandria needed to be repaired as well, the damage being an almost equal to Burmecia's.

Declan bought a very good point to me: Do you think freya has muscles under that heavy coat of hers? I mean im sure you have to train long and hard to get to be a Dragoon Knight. =P

Got any more of them?
A lot of people say Freya is their favourite FF character, so why isn't she in KH or any other game yet??? lmao

as for getting Fratley in the party, while it might not be possible in the stock game, there might be a way, by hacking the game, and finding the code that points towards character models. One could only hope that Fratley was rigged similarly to Freya, as he'd have to use her battle anims. . .
The hardest part that I can see, is finding out what the ID is for Fratley's mesh and textures. Freya could be fairly simple, as her mesh shows up often enough that a simple process of elimination could find her ID.
Oh wait, I've gone crosseyed X-|

Computers scare me so I'm going to stick with good old fashioned WHOOP ASS! Such as throwing an elixir to defeat the otherwise sickeningly hard dude in the Iifa Tree

Hyuk hyuk hyuk
I always get Eiko to give the guy an Elixir, she seems so keen to "kick his butt" and all, she ought to have the glory of killing him xDDD

An Elixir? You guys are so wasteful with your items...the Life spell does the trick just as easily.

Well unlike SOME people, (glares at all you Elixir wasters) by the time I get to the Iifa Tree I've got a nice healthy stock of around 30-40, hardly wasteful is it? So nyeeeh.

Who here had beaten Ozma? How did you do it? How long did it take? And why does a floating ball of colors have to be so hard to kill? ??

It took me around 40-50 minutes, I used a guide for help!
It's basically who you use, what you use, and what they're wearing. If they've got Dark and Holy absorbing stuff on, you can say WHOOP WHOOP! because then when he attacs you with evil attack of doom you can get healed. Mwhahaa. >=3
A lot of people say to use Steiner and Quina, but I used my never-failed team of Zidane, Freya, Eiko and Dagger. The main motivation between defeating Ozma was to try out the Fratley rumour, which unfortunately didn't come true ;_; so I made Freya attack all the time so she could deal the final blow. Probably why it took so long. >.>;;

I've beaten Ozma several times, with and without the Friendly Monster Sidequest completed. It didn't take that long, but on both accounts it took more than one try.

Here's a question: Assuming that FFIX eventually gets the remake treatment, would you rather it use the "Advent Children" style of graphics as seen in "Crisis Core" or the original semi-Super Deformed style of the original PS1 release? Personally I'm torn, while I'd love to see a realistically designed Freya, which would probably more closely resemble Amano's original artwork, seen here: i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr123/kyuukimon/e77c0eb6.jpg I also think that changing the charming semi-sd style to something more realistic might take away some of FFIX'S appeal.

Personally. Defeating Trance Kuja, and Necron using just trance Freya. :3 Anyone here know Necron counts as a flying creature?
