Thought this seemed to be a good place to post this since the Creative Corner's more for posting stories/artwork with people "reviewing" than having a discussion on people's literary experiences through their time writing stories, poems.
Literary experiences is simply a measuring stick of where one's writing has taken them. From simple haiku's due to Japanese influence to writing insightful and soulful poems (May range from philosophical to life experiences ) with one's personal rhyming scheme, from action/adventure short stories to writing stories involving suspenseful and dramatic adventures across battle-scarred lands, and so on and so on.
I wanted to see where people's writing has taken them from where they once stood at.
Edit: Summary
Well, I started writing when I was a wee lad in elementary. Started writing short stories; that somehow made complete sense to my young mind (I still have those notebooks...I don't know what I was smoking <_<), stories involving characters that I loved to either play or read about (Mostly play as I was a seriously avid gamer back in my heyday.) Little did I know, what I was writing was already a well known and established community.
Fan Fiction.
After my 'discovery' of said community, I immersed myself into the readings and writings from fanfiction authors on Fanfiction.com, ranging from average to superb. Only through constant writing and delving further and further into the literary world (To the point where I have a small library consisting of favorite books/works/authors) did I grow as both a man of the written word and a creator of worlds so to speak.
Most of my experiences in the written word, aside from educational forced stories/poems/etc, belong in the fanfiction realm where only a few I would dare publish. Ideas and plots is something I cherish deeply, and having them freely in this internet superhighway used to be a frightening thought as anyone could take it and write with my idea.
That being said, I have no quarrel with it now and have grown past that little bump in the road. I do plan on still writing my ambitious projects in both the Fanfiction and 'Original' Fiction communities, both of them hopefully opening people's minds to the vast realities of our existence.
