"Realm Of Eternal Rain..." Odessa pondered the title for a moment. "Seems fitting. And mysterious, I would like to visit your city someday. 'Burmecia', was it? I'll keep that in mind. Anyways, one moment, I think I have a spare poncho in my pack just her size." While she searched her pack, Firebrand gave her mentor the stink eye.
"Eh. No, I'm fine. See, my fighting style relies heavily on agility and light clothing. Wearing a poncho would mess with my skills, yanno?"
"Fighting style means nothing if you catch a cold afterwards.." The Bangaa woman lightly warned, she already pulled out a large grey cape and hood around the burmecian's size. "Or worse. It's wise to care for your health and your body. There's a certain irony if you let a strong woman like yourself be taken down by a simple virus."
"But what if we fight any fiends along the way? What then? I'll be at a disadvantage!" Firebrand was clearly against it and wanted to be at her best. Or to at least show off her moves in front of others. "Teach, you know I'm good enough to withstand the rain. I grew up in Burmecia after all. Granted I wore more clothing than I am now, But I can take it! If we go into a fight, you need a powerhouse like me at the front line!"
Frato can choose to make her wear the rain poncho or not. Doing so will bring a small affinity loss, 50% chance for her to do -1 damage per attack, and -2 speed for the duration she wears it. Not making her wear it will bring a small affinity loss from Odessa and a chance for Firebrand to catch a disease, which will bring even greater stat debuffs for the duration of the sickness.

"Yeah. Burmecia." Frato answered. "It would be an honour to show you around my home Odessa." The dragoon then frowned slightly as Firebrand objected to the poncho offered her by the Bangaa.
"I'm rather hoping we don't need to fight anyone on our shopping trip Firebrand. Besides, I don't you getting sick under my care just because you wouldn't wear a poncho." Frato told his student. "Just put in on. You can still fight in it if you need to, right? A little disadvantage now is nothing compared to falling ill and not being able to fight at all."

Firebrand can be heard grumbling out loud and making a face. "Awww man. I can handle a stupid cold. Plus that'll make me look ugly."
Ditz tried to reassure it's friend. "Don't worry, It's like Sir Frato says; it'd be more worse if you got a disease. Plus we might not get to fight anyways."
"But I wanted to fight..." Defeated, the female burmecian sighed and began to don the rain poncho, taking her time during the process. Even after she finished, she still had her grumpy face on. "Hmph! I'll wear it, but I sure as hell won't like it.." The woman loses 5% affinity for her mentor.
Odessa on the other hand gains 5% for him. "You don't have to like it, but your body will thank you." Suddenly the Bangaan mother felt like she was dealing with her son's tantrum again. "Your mentor was looking after your health, not your fighting ability. Even we warriors on this island take great lengths to care for our health. Especially our young-warriors-to-be. And you'll be with us as well. The more in our party, the likely we'll be attacked by-"
A loud boom of thunder interrupted her speech. This was followed by a sudden inhuman screech and rumbling of the earth. Cries of men, clash of metal, and otherworldly carnage soon dominated the atmosphere outside the dome. Odessa suddenly went white and turned towards the exit doors where she can clearly hear everything behind them. Suddenly every superstition she mentioned has brought a new found terror within her.
"No! NO NO NO!" She cried out, then immediately sprinted as fast as her legs could carry her. The doors was slammed opened and she has exited the building. In the moment the doors were open, Frato can see that a large melee has commenced between poncho-wearing fighters and a mass of insectoid-like fiends. The night time and the heavy storm has made everything too dark to show everything Frato needed to know. The only light sources, the torches that created a path towards the village port, was only lighting at the most minimal capacity due to the heavy rain fall. The door closed a moment later, leaving a shocked and bewildered burmecian team stranded in thought on what to do next.

"Now come on, it won't look that bad on ya Firebrand." Frato tried to reassure his pupil, before grinning at her. "Besides, it could be worse. It could be a Cleyran Shrine Maiden outfit. Heh."
The dragoon's ears then flattened as he heard another boom of thunder, and as he heard sounds of fighting he looked warily at the door. Huh? What's going on out there? He then gave a worried glance as he heard Odessa crying out, before looking rather horrified himself at the mayhem outside. Eh?! What the hell!? Where did all those bug fiends come from!?
"Oh boy... this doesn't look good." Frato remarked. "Come on you two, we'd better go and help Odessa. It looks like the locals need all the help they can get."
The hybrid then charged outside after the Bangaa.
(You just can't let Frato have a peaceful shopping trip can ya Meeps? Not a moment's peace.)

Firebrand and Ditz immediately followed with their mentor towards the exit, urgency driving them all forward. The first thing Frato saw once he opened the door was a body flying past his vision at lightning speed and blood splattering his face. Mayhem has interrupted in the scene as fiends has taken advantage of the night and weakened torch lights to exact an attack on the unsuspecting warriors. Dozens of fiends and warriors battled under the dark thunderclouds, bloodlust and survival instincts overtaking them. Amidst the bloodshed and heavy rains, Odessa can be seen scrambling towards Graggins, who was fighting off a large crawler worm along with his men. One person was missing from his group and the bangaa was the only one to notice.
"Graggins! Where's my son!? Where is he?"
The frantic cry gave the large human strength enough to throw the creature away from him. He took a moment to look around and fear gripped him. "Oh lord! I swear I told him to stick by me! Ronzo! Ronzo, where are you, boy!?
"Ronzo!!!" Odessa screamed the loudest, her crossbow held tightly in her hands. She ran deeper into the melee without any concern for anything else around her.
Ditz took a step forward. "Come on! We should help them!"
But before Frato can decide who and how they could help, a trio of fiends charged themselves into the burmecians view. A giant Carve Spider, accompanied by a pair of wicked Dragonflies, hissed dangerously at them. The trio began to move towards them.
"Aw crap, can't say I didn't told you so but..." Firebrand pulled out her weapon and went into her fighting stance. "Whatever, let's take care of these assholes first! Let's go Teach!"

Frato's eyes widened in shock as he noticed a body flying past him in the rain. Yeesh! It's absolute chaos out here! He then quickly spotted Odessa and Graggins and headed towards them. He then looked worried as he heard the Bangaa mother ask about her son. Oh no... where is Ronzo? This isn't a time to get lost. I bet Ronzo is looking to prove himself a warrior. I just hope one of these fiends hasn't got him.
"Right. Let's see if we can..." Frato replied as Ditz said they should help, before being cut off as he noticed some fiends charging towards them. Aw crap... just what we need.
"Urgh... I guess we gotta deal with these guys first." Frato muttered, before drawing his sword and entering a battle stance. "Let's all attack one of the dragonflies first and try to take it out. We could take a real battering if we let all three of these beasties live for long."
The dragoon then gestured they should strike Dragonfly A, before charging in to attack it himself.
(What weapon does Frato currently have equipped Meeps? I take it he still has the blade that he was given to kill that janitor.)

Both knights agree'd and began charging at the flying insectoid as their leader pointed out. But the two aerial fiends were agile, agile enough to attack them first. Dragonfly A casts Fira onto the hybrid, dealing 4 damage to him, while Dragonfly B tried to cast Buzz on Firebrand to Berserk her, but failed.
Firebrand attacked first, dealing 6 damage to it, while Ditz joined in adding another 6 damage. Their mentor was next, dealing 5 damage. The fiend gloated in the air with uncertainty, but was still able to fight.
The Carve Spider was next. Folding it's upper arms into it's mandibles and violently spat out a heap of web toward's Ditz. The attack dealt 3 damage to the knight and affected it with the Slow Status effect.

Frato gritted his teeth as he felt the Fira spell from the Dragonfly burn him, before countering with his own attack. After he and his students had exchanged blows with the fiends, he looked incredulously at the Dragonfly they attacked for a second.
Wha!? How the hell is that thing still alive!? Grr... well, it's on its last legs by the look of it. This next attack will finish it!
"Alright, let's finish that Dragonfly now! Everyone attack it!" Frato cried, before charging in again to attack Dragonfly A.

Each of his students gave a willing grunt of approval and charged at the faltering Dragonfly. But before it was knocked down for good, it was determined to let out one last attack.
It does so by letting out another Buzz attack. This time it successfully hit against Ditz and gave the burmecian the berserk status, making the knight temporarily uncontrollable. The other Dragonfly casts Fira against Firebrand, dealing 5 damage to the lightly armoured woman.
Firebrand was able to run in a attack at the weakened insectoid. With a sharp blow from her weapons, the fiend was defeated and permanently fell to the ground. With that out of the way, Frato proceeded to attack the other remaining Dragonfly for 5 damage. The dragon knight would've wanted his students to do the same, But Ditz's Berserked state didn't allow his line of thinking. With no regard to logic, the brown burmecian instead attacked the Carve Spider, dealing 6 damage.
The arachnid fiend attacked the Hybrid as the last act, dealing 4 damage and failing to poison him.

Frato gave a worried glance to Ditz as he saw the knight hit with an attack from the ailing Dragonfly and saw his student go into a rage. Rrgh... these pesky dragonflies have some irritating attacks! We need to deal with them quickly.
The dragoon was then glad to see the insect finally fall to Firebrand's attack. After dishing out his own attack to the other Dragonfly, he grunted in pain as the Spider attacked him. Grr... these fiends are starting to do a number on me! I'd better drink a potion.
"Firebrand, attack that other Dragonfly." Frato commanded, before then rummaging in his pockets to pull out a mid potion and drinking it.

"Ugh, got it Teach." Firebrand grunted, then gave a worried looked to her friend, who was already ready to attack the enemy. Then just focused on her next turn. Frato was the first to act and successfully drink his potion; healing for 7 HP.
The last Dragonfly acted next and speedily lunged towards Firebrand; dealing 3 damage with a basic attack. Firebrand counterattacked and managed to critical attack for 12 damage total, leaving her with a satisfied grin.
The carve spider was next. It charged at Frato with it's mandibles open and delivered a toothy bite against the hybrid: dealing 3 damage and poisoning him for an additional 1 damage.
Ditz, being slowed, was last and attacked and luckily managed to attack the last Dragonfly; killing it in the process.

Frato winced as he the Carve Spider bit into him, and he gave a curse as he realised the fiend had poisoned him. Urgh... this is not what I needed. Hrm? Well at least Ditz has managed to finish off that pesky Dragonfly. Now we can just focus our attacks on this damn spider. I'll teach you not to poison me you wretched fiend!
"Alright Firebrand, let's attack that spider and try to finish this." Frato ordered. He then charged towards the spider and took some pleasure in slashing at it with his sword.

Frato's determination payed off well in the end. Combined with his critical hit and his student's attacks, they were able to take down the spider and reap the rewards; 1200 Gil.
Once the battle and no more enemies stood against them, Ditz's mindless berserk subsided and the nezumi began to return to normal. Wobbling, the began to stand up once more. "Ugh, my head, so dizzy." Before the knight could ask what happened, he saw something large flying towards his mentor. "Sir Frato, watch out!" The burmecian cried out and lunged.
Ditz managed to push itself and Frato out of the way from the projectile. Turning, they saw it was a Hornet that had charged itself at another warrior and crashed it into the wet muddy ground. Chaos still reigns around the burmecians, where fiends ferociously battled against the hardened inhabitants of the island. The thundering storm only added more panic, where the dousing rains continued to cloud Frato's vision and muddle the ground.
Before they can turn to their next objective, a loud cry caught their attention. "Dammit! Someone help me get this bastard off of me!" Turning to the source, the burmecians would find not one, but two Carrion Worms holding down Graggins into the ground. Their combined weight was forcing the human deeper into the watery mud as they continuously tried to bite at him while the man held them off with his bare hands. Graggins was struggling to breathe and he coughed as he cried for help. "Someone! Ugh! I cant, ah! Hold on! Please!"

There! Yes! That took care of all of them! He then turned to check on his students, particularly Ditz. Whew. It looks like he's coming to his senses now. It looks like we didn't take any serious wounds eith-WHOA!
The dragoon was startled as his pupil suddenly threw him down to the ground, and he landed with a grunt. What the hell was... whoa, that nearly hit me.
"Thanks Ditz." Frato said, still a little stunned by the chaos of what just happened. He quickly got back onto his feet and grimaced slightly as he noticed he was now covered in mud. Urgh... so much for my shower. Oh well. I have more pressing concerns right now.
The hybrid was about to look for signs of where Odessa had gone when a familiar cry caught his attention. "Hrm? Ah, Graggins!" Frato exclaimed as he saw his friend being pinned down. "Quick, you two help me get those fiends off him!"
Frato then dashed forward to try and wrestle one of the Carrion Worms off of Graggins.

Frato's students rushed alongside their leader to help the downed merchant. While Firebrand and Ditz took on one Carrion Worm, Frato took on the other. The fiend thrashed about in the grasp of the dragon knight, clawing and creating minor yet bloody wounds into his arms. The worm's fleshy body made it almost slippery and repulsive to the touch, but the knight's perseverance made it possible for him to force the fiend off of his friend. His students were also able to remove the second fiend, allowing Graggins to quickly rise up and back away.
"Ugh. Thank the gods! No wait, thank you Frato, m'boy. I owe you..my life once more." The bearded man was completely drenched in mud and water, with many bad cuts all around his body. He was having a hard time breathing and speaking at once. But he had little time to recover, seeing the carrion worms they threw off once against coming for them. "Curse these wretched beasts! Of all the times to come at us and...forget about it, let's take them out together and help Lady Odessa. I'm worried for her and her son. I'll help you. Let's go!"

Frato gritted his teeth and grunted as he struggled to pull the fiend off his friend, cursing to himself. Urgh! This thing is heavy! Plus it feels disgusting. Stop wriggling and get off him you stupid fiend!
Thankfully he noticed that Graggins had managed to get back to his feet and away from the fiends. Relieved, the dragoon threw the Carrion Worm away and backed off to where the human was standing.
Phew... he sounds a bit roughed up, but it doesn't look like he's been damaged too badly by that. Good.
"Don't mention it. I couldn't just let you die there." Frato replied, before growling as he noticed the worms coming back for more. "Grr... those damn worms are persistant! Ditz, Firebrand, let's focus our attacks on that worm! I want to kill these things as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence here!"
Frato gestured towards Carrion Worm A with his sword before charging towards it and slashing at it viciously.

Both insect fiends had already screeched out their intent and charged at the opposing group of burmecians and human. But the heroes were more agile than their opponents and were able to strike them first. Ditz attacked ahead of them, thrusting a skilled punch into the soft leathery back of Carrion Worm A; dealing 5 damage. Frato was next and dealt damage with a slash of his sword. Then came Firebrand, dual wielding both her weapons and slashing down at the fiend for 5 damage total.
The first Carrion Worm was badly beaten, but still mobile enough to launch it's counter offensive. With a spark from it's mouth, it blew a fiery stream of flames across it's enemies; dealing 2 damage to Frato and 3 damage to the rest. It's fiendish counterpart made a similar if not more concentrated attack. It casts a powerful Fire onto Ditz, dealing 5 damage to the brown nezumi.
"Gah! That ain't no good!" Graggins winced at as the flames scorched a large part of his belly, his eyes glued to the first carrion worm with vengeance in his eyes. "Alright. Hey Frato let me show you how we do it down in the south beaches of my country! Horauuuuugh!" Shouting his battle cry, the giant man launched himself with surprising speed and charged at Carrion Worm A. The man slammed himself shoulder-first at the fiend, creating a loud sickening 'crunch' as he connected himself to the fiend's face and sent the now dead creature backwards into the dark wet battlefield. Graggins got back up and allowed himself to grin with self satisfaction. "Ha ha! That'll teach you to mess with ole Graggy!" (The attack allowed him to deal 8 damage, but 4 damage to himself)
Due to poison, Frato suffers 1 damage.

Frato felt the rush of battle with a thrill as he hacked at the Carrion Worm with his allies. After he and his students had all attacked it, he gave a slight curse to see it still standing. Darn it... these things are tough for worms. Surely another all out attack will-GAH!
The hybrid made a futile effort to cover himself as the fiend spurted flames at them. ARGH! HOT! HOT!!! How the hell can these things breathe fire!? I thought they just used physical attacks or maybe shook the ground! Grr...
He then turned as he heard Graggins call out his own attack, before they widened as he witnessed the man charge right at the worm and shoulder tackled it to the ground. Whoa... that makes me think of Firebrand's reckless charge. I'm not sure how well he'd fare with a much larger fiend trying that though.
"Wow, you really showed that worm who's boss." Frato remarked. "That was a pretty ballsy move."
Gah...but now me and my students are all worse for wear. Ditz especially. I'd better get out some potions... I have a bad feeling this won't be the only fiend we need to kill.
The hybrid looked through his potions and pulled out an X-Potion which he passed to Ditz, a potion for Firebrand and a First Aid Kit for himself. "Here, use these guys. We need to stay fit for the fights ahead." Frato instructed his students before then using the first aid kit on himself.

While Frato and his burmecian allies heal themselves (Frato heals for 5 HP and cures poison, Ditz heals for all HP, and Firebrand heals for 4 HP), the final giant worm fiend took advantage of the temporary lull to launch another attack against them. With another bright flicker in it's mouth, the Carrion Worm launched a second Fire attack at Frato; dealing 4 damage to the knight.
Graggins was already preparing his next attack. "Alright, you lads take a small breather, I'll tenderize this sodder for ya. Just watch." Grinning, the human bunched his hands into fists and ran at the fiend. Using both appendages, he raised his arms over his head and smashed them on top of the creature's body; damaging it for 4 HP and lowering it's defense and magic resistance by 1. The worm's pained shriek allowed the man to return to his original position and have a breather of his own. "Phew! Been a while since I fought this hard. I need to start working out regularly. Anyways, let's bring this one down, eh?"

Aw crap... not again! ARGH! Frato grimaced and cried out as he bore another wave of fire from the Carrion Worm. Urgh... just you wait you stupid worm! I'll get you back for that. Hrm? Well, I'm glad Graggins isn't taking the stance of potions being dishonourable. Is that just for fights between warriors or something? Guh. I still haven't got my head around this weird culture. I wonder... whoa. Graggins has some pretty impressive moves.
"Nice attack." Frato complimented, before giving a bloodthirsty grin at the fiend. "Alright, now I really want to slaughter this thing after being barbecued by it! Firebrand, why not show Graggins your Reckless Assault technique? Ditz, just punch that thing as hard as you can. Knock it out!"
The dragoon then wasted no time charging towards the worm to try and deal it the finishing blow with his sword. Grr... I'd love to show off my own skills to Graggins in finishing this thing... but Lancer might not kill it. Stupid worm. DIE!
