After stepping into the room with Daniels and sat on the sofa, Franslin playfully pulled the Cleyran to sit down with him "Actually yes! Yes I do!" he responded with a now joyful tone in his earlier-glum voice "We were in sky battles before but nothing was comparable to this one..."
"Back during the early days when I first joined the crew, the Captain had many rivals, business rivals It was just dawn! The sun was just rising and we could smell the ocean air! But there was a violent shake, the ship rocked from side to side and I sounded the alarm we were rammed by a ship underneath us. So we kicked up the engines and went full steam ahead, and there it was rising from the cloud and almost blocking out the young sun. The crimson ship with manly blades Her Queen Mary's Guillotine! Its like it had to put in of effort to catch up with and it rammed into us again, side by side, our ship bound to the bloody ship by it's devilish hooks! Pirates hopped about on to our ship and it was only moments till battle had begun, we lost men, they lost men, men that fell from the ship told no tales no more. While battles blazing, I at the time not even a quartermaster yet, accompanied by my friend Mosin did the most daring, we sneaked into that ship and managed to break down those hooks and we had to haul our asses, we both grabbed the rope and swung back on The Lunar Crescent That was only wave one...."
"...The real battle started when it was the two girls, Her Queen Mary and the Lunar Crescent, facing off with each other. The skies echoed with cannons and crashed while the ship was being stirred, both ships circling each other like vultures, locked in aerial combat, it went on for hours I remember I was busy running around the ship with a bunch of others patching up holes that were piecing into the dear ship. But we were winning! Queen Mary was burning like a comet, but falling from the sky that sent a howl on the deck, down came the captain with his deadly barbed hook blades ready, it was Captain Livoss Valentine, a tall and skinny grey burmecian with black messy hair that had a wide pointy and toothy grin, the appearance of a true mad man. He demanded one thing, and one thing only, a one on one battle against our captain, Luna. a duel captain to captain. Luna accepted. The two fought valiantly, a great lance and the fearsome blades cashed and clanged and blood was drawn, but we were losing hope, Captain Luna was losing, horribly. Livoss was about to throw down the finishing blow, but he stopped he didn't look but he could just feel it, his Queen Mary couldn't bare it anymore and fall from the sky. Right there, he could have taken over our crew though he was smarter and wiser than Luna and knew when the fight was over, but he submitted he had lost his ship there was nothing left for him. He was a prisoner for a long time, but Luna wanted him in his ranks and Livoss quickly became his First Mate... It was often rumored after that eventful fight, Poor Captain Luna was scared, he feared Livoss. He knew Livoss could strike him down at any second, so the only thing he can do is keep the mad man happy. And believe it or not... But that mad man, became a dear friend to me and I often wonder how it would have been if Livoss never surrendered that day. But to that, I'm sure you were hoping for a story where I was the hero of that day, but you asked for an Airship battle not a Fransly story~ But really... I think the hero of that story was Livoss, its hard to explain." he winked some smiled.

As the mercenary spoke about Carnicero, the hybrid worried if he'd blurted out something he'd regret. Thankfully, the alligator did not seem to recognise him or any bounty that might've been on him, which gave Frato a bit of relief. Although he was rather surprised to hear that the nu mou was being hunted down by the barbaric clan. Now I definitely want to speak to Mortimmer. He could prove to be a useful ally, although I'll have to do something about this bounty on him. Maybe I could persuade him to take up a hood and alternate name like I'm doing...
Frato smiled as he saw that Killy had done her job well, and paid her little attention as she grumbled and healed the alligator. Unfortunately, she had done her job too well, as the nu mou was already coming to. Damn! I'd hoped he'd stay unconscious until that alligator went to see the captain! I can't let him see that mercenary...he might panic and get violent again!
The hybrid moved over to Mortimmer's side, purposely trying to block his view of the alligator."Hey, are you feeling alright?" Frato said softly, hoping to keep the nu mou calm. "It's ok, you're safe for now. I got Killy to come and heal you."

"Oh...Frato?" The nu mou whispered, still dazed and confused from his ordeal. Mortimmer layed still, knowing he should rest to help his injured mind. Moments of his past beating came to crawl back to him as he continued to lay there. "Oh..what happened? Where am I?"
Thanks to Frato's quick and clever thinking, Killy and the mercenary didn't notice Mortimmer's revival at all, instead they began to bicker and talk about ethics of bounty hunting.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Daniels sat down next to Franslin and listened wordlessly as the red mage told his tale. He didn't dare interrupt the flow of words being told by him, only issueing an occasional 'oh?' and a 'hmm.' to motivate him to continue. The white mage did his best to use his imagination to display what played out for him but it hardly did him justice. The cleyran has traveled fairly around the continents, but being a white mage and having a preference to stay out of battle, he has never gotten involved into anything as fantastic as a airship battle as he was being told right now.
Daniel's smile was set and his excitement was shown through his face even as the red mage finished his story. "That was masterful Sir Franslin! I could almost feel like I was in it. Who knew you'd turn out to be a masterful story teller as well." He laughed gailt, enjoying the nezumi's company.
"One more story if you please." Daniel's clapped his hands. "That's all and I promise I won't be a bother to you. About you this time, if you please. Maybe your greatest battle, luckiest event, or.." The white mage suddenly bit his lips. "Maybe when you had your first romantic encounter?"

Frato breathed a sigh of relief as the nu mou focused on him and remained on the bed. Thankfully Killy and the alligator were talking quietly by themselves.
"You're in one of the ships bedrooms right now. Just relax, you're still recovering, and I'm not going anywhere." Frato reassured him. "As for what happened...well, I didn't see everything, but I had to break up a big fight two bounty hunters were having over you. Apparently Clan Carnicero has put a bounty on your head. Right now you're currently in the alligator mercenary's custody, and he's giving me some credit for your capture. Don't worry though, I'll try and arrange something so that I can take full responsibility for you. Just relax for the moment and I won't let him hurt you." The hybrid then spoke up so the mercenary could hear. "Besides, Captain Blasco wants to speak to him about the damage he did by fighting over you."

"Ah, yes, fight. I remember now, remember I do." Mortimmer groaned softly through the pain in his head. "Thank you for the help. Yes. But as for the bounty tho, I.."
That was when the alligator noticed Frato's question, and the fact that Mortimmer has awakened. The mercenary's hissed triumphantly. "Ah you're awake, good!" His wounds healed, the gator got up effortlessly and walked over to the nu mou and grabbed his colar to inspect him. Mortimmer groaned but did little to resist, his arms still bound behind him.
"Ah, good. Yer white magic healed good there, as is mine. He looks fit like he ain't never had a scratch. Better than the nurse in port, tho not as graceful in the mouth."
Killy didn't make a retort, she only ignored him as the merc man-handled Mortimmer.
"Hmm..as fer the cap'n." The gator continued. "First off, we shall head to the brig and lock this oaf up and collect me bounty. Don't have the gil to pay fer much, but once I gets me share, I'll send part of me share to you good rats. Shall we head off?"
The gator looked at Frato with enthusiasm, but Killy showed a very worried face to the hybrid instead.

The hybrid knight grew wary as the bounty hunter approached, and watched anxiously as he grabbed Mortimmer's collar. Thankfully the alligator was merely checking the nu mou over, but a bigger problem presented itself when the alligator stated his intention of putting the nu mou in the brig.
"Uh...I'd rather not throw him into the brig just now." Frato replied, keeping his composure. "I really want to question him and see if I can get some useful info about Clan Carnicero. If you want to have some money in hand before facing Blasco, I could ask my brother to give me some money to lend you. That sound fair? You'd be doing me a big favour..."

The gator puzzled over the suggestion of his new friend, then shrugged his shoulder. "Aight, sounds fair. A favor returned it is." The mercenary got up and stretched. "Now if ya'll excuse, I'm gonneh go hit the showah. Don't let the chubby one out of both yer sights..." The gator left the room.
Killy just stared at Frato, amazed. "Wow...I can't believe that worked. You're getting better at this arent you?"
Mortimmer was glad to see that he was given more ample time. He freedom isn't assured but it was enough to lift his spirits. "Thank you Mr. Frato. He would've thrown me to the brig for sure, oh yes.."

The hybrid breathed a sigh of relief as the gator agreed to return his favour. Then, to his amazement, the bounty hunter left him alone with Mortimmer so he could have a shower. Wow, he must really trust me if he's leaving his bounty in my care. Hrm...I guess I could just sneak Mortimmer out now whilst I have the chance, but I'd rather not betray that bounty hunter make another potential enemy. But where am I gonna get enough money to pay him off?
"Are you feeling better Mortimmer?" Frato asked, deciding to turn his attention to the nu mou. "Say, just why would Carnicero put a bounty on your head anyway?"

"Bounty you mean, yes?" The nu mou stammered. Momentarily he just stared blankly at the hybrid.
"Wait a minute, you didn't kill anyone did you?" The white mage looked at Morttimmer with suspicion.
"No no I...well i mean to say is uh..." Again the blank look and silence. "Ugh...I can't say yet. Not here or out loud. Sorry, but I promise I had a very good reason for being on the run from them. I just need to break free. When I do, I will tell you. For all we know, that brute probably left something here to ehar us talk."

The nu mou's floundering reaction made Frato a little suspicious, especially given how he answered Killy's question. Then again, Mortimmer did have a right to be nervous right now, but the dragoon didn't want to move him and betray the trust of the bounty hunter. He had enough people after him already.
"Why would that bounty hunter be listening in? He just wants to turn you in a make some gil." Frato answered, before trying a more friendly tone. "Come on, you can tell us. We're trying to bring Clan Carnicero to justice."

The nu mou still remained for a little while longer until a thought occured in his brain. "Hmm...well I have no real way of truly believing you...unless you'd like to do something to prove you are helpful, oh yes." Mortimmer sat up on his knees and leaned over to the hybrid. "I want you to grab something for me from my room and bring it back here, mm-hmm. You remember that box I brought with me when I met you? That's the item. But!" He made sure to point that last word out. "But, under no circumstances should you open it, oh no! It contains my reason for the bounty and proof of everything. The keys to my room are in my right robe pocket and the room is located 2 doors east of your room. Remember, don't look inside. Because uh..."
It was obvious that the nu mou was trying hard to think of a reason, and failed. "Well, it's not importent. Just don't open it. Alright?"

Frato listened to the nu mou's request, and he was a little concerned about leaving him alone with Killy. Then again, Mortimmer wasn't likely to go anywhere if he had the key to his room, and he was very protective of the box he carried onto the ship. Besides, if it would get him to talk about why Carnicero was after him it would likely be worth it.
"Alright, I'll go get it for you." Frato replied, getting the key from Mortimmer's pocket before moving towards the door. "Just stay there and I'll be back as quick as I can."
The hybrid then headed towards the room the nu mou had indicated, and unlocked the door with the key he'd been given.

The door opened to revealed a room cluttered beyond even a hoarder's capacity. Piles and piles of papers are strewn over the area, all of them nearly unreadable due to Mortimmer's chicken-scratch handwriting and the complexity of the notes. Seeing as Frato doesn't have any specialties in regards to science or magic, the topics of the papers are unknown.
Vials of glasswear are set atop on tables, each filled with liquids of different textures and colors, bubbling under concentrated but controlled hot-pans. The smell given off the liquids relates to the smell of sulfur, and also a hint of something metallic that Frato cannot put his finger on.
Even the bed was cluttered with the nu mou's studies, but underneith a pile of bottles and mathematical instruments was Mortimmer's prized crate he carried with him. It's steel and wooden walls still glisten in the light and showing it's defensive strength. The lid however seemed slightly ajar, the lock already opened but only unknown darkness can be seen from what it could barely show.

As the hybrid set foot into the room, he was surprised by all the papers and scientific equipment in the room. His nose wrinkled as he caught the unpleasant scent of sulphur, and Frato wondered just what Mortimmer had been doing in here.
He soon spotted the box that the nu mou was after, and he quickly picked it up. Hrm...I should probably check this. There could be a weapon or something in here that he wants to use to escape, and he is awfully protective of this. Just what is he hiding?
Curious, Frato decided to take a peek inside the box.

When the lid was partial enough to opening, a sound of a 'click' was heard. It was too late to react afterwards, a spray of yellow gas streamed out of the opening and onto Frato's fragile face. The gas irritated his skin, especially the eyes, giving it a horrendously burning sensation throughout. Breathing the gas gave off a burning sensation to the lungs as well, but it doesn't hinder his breathing, only makes it painful to do so. The gas itself did no physical damage at all to Frato's skin or eyes, thus making it only a very annoying irritant.

"Ack!" Frato slammed the lid shut as he was hit by a blast of strange gas. The hybrid hacked and coughed, cursing as his eyes and skin burned with the chemical. He picked up the box and moved out of the room, and stopped to try and regroup for a moment. After a minute or so, he headed back to the alligator mercernary's room.

As soon as Frato opened the door out of Mortimmer's room, he was suddenly confronted by a blonde-cut Viera and a male white-mage moogle. Both of them had a sense of surprise and confusion on their faces. The moogle however quickly changed to anger.
"Kupo, you're the guy that interfered with us!" His hand reached into his robe. "Now you're gonna get what's coming..."
"Hold it there..." The Viera out a hand on the moogle shoulder to stop his movements. "Let's not be so hasty. We get more flies if we use honey no? Besides, can't you see the poor thing is hurt?"
The moogle's eyes darted from the viera to the hybrid. Sure enough he noticed the rather visible wounds and tell-tale signs of respitory problems in him. He didn't seem to be moved. "So?"
"Heal him, I'm sure he'd appreciate it."
"What!? No way kupo, this actually looks like the best time to strike, let's ju-"
"Trust me my friend.." The viera leaned closer, giving off a erry smile. "Don't you have trust in me?"
The moogle contemplated with his thoughts, then exhaled. "Fine kupo." He pulled his hands out and put them both towards Frato, muttering his spell and creating a white glowing aura over his hands.
"You'll have to excuse my friend's...temper. He's been on edge for a while." The viera made a slight bow. "You're the one that uh...helped our friend mercenary aren't you? Probably out of the goodness out of your heart no less. We hold no grudge. But I am curious to know why you are in that particular room. And, if you don't mind, why did you interfere in our private matter?"

As soon as Frato left the room, he was shocked to see the very same viera and moogle that had been fighting the alligator mercenary moments ago. When he heard the moogle making threats, he instinctively reached for his spear. Thankfully the viera talked some sense into the moogle, and the hybrid was rather surprised to be healed by him.
"Uh...thanks I guess." Frato replied, looking rather uncertain. "Look, I was only trying to stop you guys from tearing the ship apart. Blasco's already insisting that you mercernaries go and see him about the damage you did. As for what I was doing...I'm just doing a favour for a friend, is all. Now if you don't mind, I'll be off. I'd go see the captain if I were you before he gets impatient."

"Sure sure, that's fine.." The Viera said with a smile, all too easily and friendly. "We certainly don't want to impede your progress to whereever you are going."
The moogle was already done healing Frato's status when he heard what his companion said. "What, we do?"
"Shut up..." The viera hissed, then went back to her sunny side. "Now go ahead, hope we meet again fellow traveler."

The hybrid watched the pair buy his little explanation, and he heaved a sigh of relief when they left. Whew...that went fairly smoothly. Things could've got very sticky there. Still, why do I get the feeling that was just too easy?
Frato waited for a moment and looked around carefully to ensure that the pair had actually left and weren't trying to spy on him. He figured they might want to tail him to try and find their bounty.
