I know I've asked this before, but I'll ask again just to refresh my memory and see if anyone new emerges. Does anyone play any kind of Collectible Card Games, such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon and countless others? I play Magic the Gathering and Yu-gi-oh, and I'm somewhat familiar with the Pokemon CCG although it has been ages since I last played it. How about you guys? And CCG (Collectible Card Game) players out there?

Same with Scorch; played Pokemon the card game. That was one of my favorite hobbies and I had alot of fun doing it too.
I also have a great deal of Magic the Gathering Cards at my disposal, yet no one to trade with. T_T
Yugioh...I played the video game, loved it and hence how I learned to play it. Yet I only have a handful of cards.

I used to play the Pokemon TCG when I was caught in the massive Pokemon craze during my first year of secondary school (or high school to you people from the USA). I used to play the card game with my sister on a semi regular basis.
I had a school friend who poured a lot of money into Pokemon TCG, and I remember him proudly showing me his Shiny Charizard in a display case on the school bus one day. He had loads of rare cards in his collection and I even bought some off of him to improve my decks. I even spoke with another guy who was obsessed with collecting all the rare cards and making a trade with him which benefited both of us.
I also own the Pokemon TCG Game boy color game, where I have some very powerful decks utilising rare cards and I have even wrote an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for the game on GameFAQs. I never got the two Card Pop rares since I never had a friend who also owned the game.
Questions: So, any fun Pokemon TCG stories from you guys? What cool shinies and rares did you have? Did you play any fun games with any decks you had?

i just still have my blue eyes card D: still all shiney o.o You mean the awesome Blue Eyes White Dragon card Scorch? Is it the classic artwork which features the art used for Kaiba's cards in the anime and manga? Just FYI*, I have four copies of the Blue Eyes White Dragon: One classic shiny, one alternate art from the Kaiba Evolution deck, one promotional art Blue Eyes and even one classic shiny with the rare words of "1st Edition" printed on it. Heh, I swear I am slowly turning into Seto Kaiba day by day. *For Your Information (Edited post to add this line.)

i have no idea but its shiney o.o and whatnot. to me it was a rare card o.o but yeah Well a level 8, 3000 ATK normal summon monster is still a very useful card even with all the mighty new cards out right now. Some of them are so powerful it's ridiculous now. Did anyone have any other favourite cards that were special to them?

Darn, that must've sucked. Sorry to hear that Scorch.
Hrm, has anyone used a card editor to create their own cards? I had lots of fun playing around with Magic Set Editor a while ago.

My biggest gripe about Yugioh cards is unlike Magic or Pokemon cards, they don't show their rarity at all. Often making you looking it up. >< I found this MTG card maker, not perfect but at least you don't have to download any apps onto your computer to use it: magic.falseblue.com/

I remember how rare pokemon cards were because i had like... 500 cards and... 5 rare cards. D: theres ALOT of pokemon, Theres not alot of yugio cards. So it was more of a comparison between quantity. Yugio had less. =\

I don't know if that's true Scorch. That might just have been down to the age of the CCGs when you played them. Pokemon had been around longer and so had more time to make sets, whereas Yu-gi-oh was newer and had only made it's first couple of sets. I think now they both have a similiar variety of cards, Yu-gi-oh might even have an edge.
One thing I didn't like with Yu-gi-oh's older sets is the sheer number of completely unusable commons! All the good cards were really rare! This has been fixed with the newer sets, but what were they thinking initially? Just make everyone go after the rares and to hell with the commons!?
