How do you guys pronounce Burmecia? I was watching a video the other day on how to play the Burmecia/Freya theme on piano, and noticed that the guy pronounced it different than I always have, so I thought, "Who better to get opinions from than those who are obsessed with a character (or at least race) from there?" So? What do you guys say? EDIT: Just leaving a note to say, I've always said it with a hard "C", like Burma-kia.

Never even considered it any other way.

Yea I usually say it as Bur-mee-see-a myself, but that's an interesting take on it.
Tho I had a buddy who loved Zidane and I would pronounce his name 'Zy-dan-ee' to mess with him. =P

I used to say zi-dan-ee when I was a kid. Now I say zi-dane like you'd assume from the spelling, but I hear that dissidia actually pronounces it weird like zidahhn.
Then again. It is a real name (remember the soccer headbutt guy) wonder how it's pronounced irl.

Yeah, I say Zi-dane as well. But I can sorta see Zidahhhhhhhhhhn being a way people say it. How about Steiner? For me it's Sti-ner.

I just looked up a video of the headbutt Zidane, the commentators pronounced it Zi-dan.

Joining the "Bur-mee-see-a" brigade too.
Also, moving this over to Lore Library.

I've always said it as Bur-mee-see-ah too. I never thought anyone would pronounce it with a hard c. I also pronounce Zidane's name as it's spelling suggests, with Dane at the end even though I know that the footballer is pronounced "Zi-Dan."

Steiner is a common enough name. Or at least Stein in some form or another. Ben Stein, Stein's gate, Scott Steiner, ect.

Yeah, I guess I was overthinking it a bit with Steiner. And no problem, Declan. Though, I guess this is gonna be as far as this thread gets.

And, if I'll be honest, I never thought of it being a soft "c" before watching that video. I guess I'm alone on that.

I just had a thought. What do you call someone from Lindblum? Besides lame.
Lindblumian, Lindbluman, Lindblumese, and terms like that all sound kinda dumb. I've taken to writing "Lindan" in my story. Did the game ever mention the people at all?

That's actually a pretty good question. I never considered that. Lindan is the only one that doesn't sound completely weird. Treno as well, probably. Alexandrian, Burmecian, Cleyran. Those all sound right. Lindblum (and maybe Treno) don't really have any pronouns.
