Hey guys, to try and liven things up around here I decided to start a thread about what video games you're currently playing. I'll start by talking about two games I've beaten just less than two weeks ago:
The first is Ratchet and Clank 2. I didn't even realise I was facing the final boss until the credits started rolling. It seemed a little underwhelming for a final boss, although at least they didn't effectively force you into grinding bolts for the RYNO like in the first game. I feel this game relied too much on swarming you with enemies for difficultly. I also didn't like how a lot of your weapons became rather useless into the later parts of the game. Still, I can see the precursor to a lot of mechanics that were present in the third game, which is still my favourite of the trilogy.
I've also completed a little indy game on the Switch called Qbik. It was a fun little puzzle game, and certainly worth it given it was only 90p in the Summer sale.
As for what I'm playing now, I'm trying to beat a New Game + of Stella Glow on the 3DS. This may be my favourite 3DS game and may have beaten FF9 for my favourite game ever. It has a free demo on the 3DS eshop and is well worth taking a look at.

Tell us more about Stella glow.

Nivalis here.
I've recently been playing some old Super Nintendo games using the ZSNES emulator platform. Secret of Mana, Illusion of Gaia, Puzzle Bobble, and Secret of Evermore are still entertaining to me. (Dame Freya tried to persuade me not to finish SoM. She didn't want me to kill a Flammie/Mana Beast.)
Other games I play regularly are Brutal Doom, Quake Epsilon, Morrowind, and Oblivion. I would play Skyrim and Serious Sam III, but we have no reliable internet service providers out here in the Dismal Swamp. (And that means no access to Steam.)
Dame has been playing Morrowind recently. She actually finished the whole damned main quest using only two console cheats. (TGM and COC are some mighty big cheats, though.)
Edit by Troll: Like if I 'd the patience to get killed over and over by a crappy Kuama larva or by the dark brotherhood. And not a single guard come to my rescue when I manage to get inside a city! ):<

I just got Undertale for the Switch (hurrah for collector's edition!) so I've been playing on that from time to time. Other than that, I've been messing around with a Zelda 3 randomiser for the SNES emulator, Hollow Knight for the Switch, Final Fantasy Opera Omnia for mobile, and of course GZDoom, Hexen and occasionally Heretic for PC. I've still got a backlog of games I still need to finish, mostly for PS4, but I'm gonna have to redo all those since I reformatted it by accident the other day. Whoops!

I've been playing a lot of Paradox games, specifically Hearts of Iron IV, Victoria II, and some Pillars of Eternity.
Also goof around with kaizo mario hacks, but that's just a hobby in general for me (working on a hack that I'm hoping to release by end of year)

I (Dame) played Undertale (PC), Spore, Spore Creature , Morrowind (cheated my S off) and Oblivion. (All of them played in the most lazy way.) I spent more time watching animu, latest were My Hero Academia and Cowboy Bebop.

I started playing Undertale but got such a strong Earthbound vibe that it made me all nostalgic for Earthbound and went back and played that Did Undertale live up to the hype?

So who here's got Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu or Let's Go Eevee? I've just completed the main story and finished filling out my pokedex with help from a close friend, now I'm busy building up my team for online matches. If anyone wants to battle with me or trade to fill in their pokedex lemme know - my friend code is 0642-5659-6887

Barcode: Undertale was enjoyable. I watched Dame play through it(she could finish it, even though she sucks at Bullet-Hell type games). There were many tributes to vintage video games in Undertale, taking the form of both jokes and game mechanics. These tributes made the game very engaging to folks like me, who have been playing stupid videogames forever. (First game I played: Computer Space coin-op, back in 1976. It cost FIFTY damn cents per play!)
Can we turn this into a thread about the first videogame you have played or remember playing?

I have Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu Dec as I got it as a present for my birthday last weekend. I haven't started it though as I'm still playing through Stella Glow and I want to finish that before moving onto another RPG. I'll certainly be up for some battles once I get into it though. As for Stella Glow, since Greysky wanted to know more, I'll elaborate. It is an RPG as I've mentioned, which has a battle system similar to Final Fantasy Tactics and Pokémon Conquest. The battles are really detailed, and you also get Free Time sections where you can choose what allies to talk to and bond with to earn special abilities for them. The game also has a Song Magic mechanic, where you can build up a Song Gauge through fighting enemies and then unleash songs which can have really powerful effects. The music in the game is amazing, the characters are all endearing and I've just got to the big twist in the story. It really amazed me and it's a shame it was the swan song for the company that made it. It deserves more love and attention, it's a real gem for the 3DS. I you have the system look online for the free demo and give it a try. Oh, and you can feel free to talk about video game memories and stuff. Let's keep the discussion going!

first game ever? That's a tough one, probably Super Mario World when I was like 5 years old. I don't remember much, but my parents said I went ballistic at the store playing on the display device and so after that they knew what to get me for Christmas. I DO remember opening it on Christmas morning and losing my mind though, thus beginning a lifelong love-affair with games
how bout the rest of yah?

When I was around 5 years old I remember getting a Sega Master System with Alex Kidd and a Tazmania game. I do remember those games fondly as I had a lot of fun with them. I then ended up playing various games on my dad's Macintosh computer such as Lemmings, Zoombinis and many others.
Then for my 10th birthday, I got a PlayStation with Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and a Monopoly game. This was followed up one month later with an amazing Christmas. I recall being up all night on Christmas Eve pouring over a PlayStation magazine with my eyes firmly on Crash Bandicoot 2 review hoping Santa would bring that game for me.
In the morning, I excitedly saw that not only did I have Crash 2, but Hercules, Worms and Total Drivin. This is what got me hooked on console gaming for life.

Well, lately I've been playing Dragonball Fighterz, which is really intense for a fighting game. You can not let up for a split second or you will get punished. I'm loving my time with it so far though. I'm also in a playthrough of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX, another Switch game that's a remake of the game that got me back into Pokemon during my uni years. I am playing as a Cyndaquil, with Leafblade the Chikorita as my partner. Our team name is BlazeBloom and I've just hit Gold rank. So much for Team ACT being the top rescuers in town! Thirdly, I'm on Destiny Isles in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix on the PS3. Riku is still a pain to beat there. Finally, I'm also posting Youtube videos of Splatoon 2 gameplay on my channel. If you want to check them out, you can do so here: www.youtube.com/channel/UCvBjtf5a4z-xwlp2OTYJeyw

I've been playing a lot of simulator games on Steam lately, namely House Flipper, Builder Simulator and Car Mechanic Simulator. I want to try and stream some of these games but I need a good streaming setup first.

I'm still playing Splatoon 3 on my Youtube channel, trying to clear out the catalog.
I've also been really enjoying Pokemon Legends: Arceus lately. It's kinda refreshing to have a different take instead of the usual formula the main series follows. I can't really take it too lightly either, the alpha Pokemon are no joke and my character has been on the verge of blacking out a couple of times!
