Why finding a cheap, full 1080p HDTV has to be such a pain in the ass?

Hope it gets better from there.

Because money makes the world go round.
Also, the TV liscencing people in the UK are a pain in the ass, especially if you don't have a TV and don't have a liscence.

Tell me about it. This guy I know had the TV license people come round and accused them of watching TV without a license, they looked around for one everywhere but couldn't find one xD I say "gutted" to them.

Ha ha...Sucks to be those TV Liscence people!
I just hate the fact they'll send you a pile of letters if you don't have a liscence. I'm sure they'd have you buy one even if you didn't have a TV.

Hmmm...Hey Dec, didja try Ebay/Amazon.com. They usually sell good TV's.
If so, ever thought of trying to buy a TV from a foreign country like USA or Japan?

I've taken a look around, but there doesn't seem to be a major difference in price range regardless of wherever I go. One TV I'm hoping to purchase in particular is this: www.digitaldirect.co.uk/products_moreinfo3/index.asp?product_id=13147It's a 37" Full HD widescreen, probably small enough to fit into my tiny attic, and the reason that this thread exists in the first place. See, when I came across this page, I was immediately drawn to the "Buy now, Pay later" option it offered. Thinking that I could only pay a £60 deposit, I immediately signed up and began to purchase. What the site failed to mention is that you need to apply for credit in order to go ahead with the offer. At this point, I decided, "Screw this!" and closed down the browser. I'm not going to put myself into a financial compromise just to get my hands on a state-of-the-art TV. Another TV I have is this one from eBuyer: www.ebuyer.com/product/136349It's 720p, but it also offers a 1080i input (the interlaced equivalent of 1080p), plus it's 32" so it'll most certainly fit inside the attic. And it's got a neat price tag slapped on it - £299.99 per set. So far, it looks like a good alternative for an overpriced Full HDTV, but I still prefer the former choice I've made, assuming there's a model that's sold somewhere cheap.
