Bad news first. My 14 year old cat, Bo, has been very sick lately...my mom took him to the vet yesterday and we found out he had feline leukemia. The prognosis for that is always death, and he had an advanced stage of it. He was frighteningly lightweight by then, and scarcely moved, obviously in pain. We made the decision to have him put to sleep, and thus my older sister, my mom, and I spent a teary-eyed afternoon with our old cat at the vet...he was still purring when we relinquished him to the vet to put him to sleep. I loved that cat - he was a part of our family for more than half of my life, and I'll miss him.
However, there is some unrelated good news. After spending several years floundering between degree programs, I may finally have a direction...Bell Helicopter has a four-month program at Amarillo College culminating in a company interview, and my grandma, who lives in Amarillo, has offered to house me if I choose to attend this program. It's a wonderful opportunity, and I'll probably take it.
So I'm feeling all weird from conflicting emotions...sorrow from our dead cat, excitement over this new possible career, and general mixed-up-ness from switching medications. You guys have always been like a second family to me, and even though I haven't spoken with any of you much lately, I wanted to let you all know these things.

Well, mixed feelings here too. It's sad to hear about your cat, losing a pet is always hard to get over. But the new opportunity seems fantastic, and I'm sure you'll do the right thing, if you do take it. I wish you well whatever path you choose ^^
Oh my, Melzi is actually speaking seriously for once! oO

Sorry about your cat, Lancer. As Mel said, it's difficult to get over losing a pet, but you're stong enough, you'll pull through.
On the other hand, congratulations with the offer. Good to see that you're doing well, overall.

Whoa, Lancer has posted! It's a shame to hear about your cat Lancer. I know what's it like to lose a loved pet. I hope you can get over it soon. Coincidentally, I had a former cat called Figaro who I believe had feline leukemia a few years into his life, but miraculously, he recovered and went on to live a full life before dying of old age. Also, that training oppurtunity sounds great. I hope you get a place and wish you all the best with it Lancer!

That's a shame to hear about your cat, Lancer. It's really wierd that lately I've been losing attachment to things; my own cat's looking like she'll die, too, yet it's not fazing anyone, especially me.
But... congrats on your new job offer.
