Well it's been years but as a Freya fan, I once knew this but i've long forgotten, so anyone want to refresh me on how many of the Burmecians and Cleyrans are still alive at the end of the game? I know Kuja did a pretty good job at thinning out everyone's fav rodents, but I forget other then Freya, Fratley and that couple and their dozen children, who else is left alive, where and what's there names.
Also any images of the remaining Burmecians/Cleyrens? I'm at the very end and can't back-track that far. Thank you.

There's Freya, Fratley, Wei and Kal and their children, Doyle, Gray, and that Cleyran dude who hangs out in Daguerro whose name I've forgotten.

Welcome to the boards! It's always nice to see a new fac, maybe you ought to make a thread on Roll Call?
As for your question, if you rescued Kal during your venture through Burmecia on Disk 1, you'll see him and Wei alive and well in Lindblum with a whole bunch of kids during Disk 3.
Prince Puck is still alive, as he's in the ending, the Cleyran Oracle Kildea can be found in Duagerreo and I believe you can challenge on the Cleyran Shrine Maidens to cards in the Treno card stadium (I believe it's Shannon).
There's also the soldiers Freya speaks to during the ATE "The Rally" during Disk 3. I can't remember their names though...the script for it is on the shrine though if you care to look it up.
Kuja did kill a lot of Burmecians, but the race is still alive and well!

It is incredibly unlikely he would have been able to destroy even half the entire race, medieval casualty rates just never got that high, even when an army went in to exterminate, they usually only would get maybe one-fourth of the total population, the rest would flee. Factor in magic, and I'd give another 15-20%, but even then, remember, there weren't very many bodies in the streets or houses, and sparse enemy resistance, my theory is perhaps 20% of the global burmecian population was wiped out.
The Cleyrans get judged on a different level, being a isolationist culture, with a physical boundary blocking them from coming and going, I would say about 95% of their people were in Cleyra, they also got hit by what I'd equate the the equivalent of a nuclear device, sans radiation, on a city sized square, they'd suffer about 30% Causualty rate if no radiation, but Cleyra was a densely populated city, the Epicenter of the explosion was probably a good portion of the city, making the casualty rates 100% if exposed, and 95% inside buildings. Survivors inside the area of effect would suffer from severe burns, blindness, inhalation sickness, etc.
If we assumed the original Burmecian population as being 2,500,000, they would be at about 2,000,000 immediately afterwards.
If we assume the Cleyran Original Population as about 300,000, and they suffer 95% Casualty rates, there will probably be about 15,000 Cleyrans left in the world, they will be well on their way to extinction, you can expect more Burmecian-Cleyran couples as they are no longer physically isolated.

I remember that there was a lot of mention of people fleeing to Lindblum and other area. It seemed like they were talking about a large chunk. Of course we never see them because Square obviously didn't feel it necessary xD

you have to reme, ber that they only show around 100 charcters throughout the game (minus those extra we see in cut scenes) so their must be A LOT more to make the world viable. The game is fanatasy so they didn't have to create whole populations of thousands of people. I think their characters are more of a representation? i.e one person represents a percentage of the species?

Thanks so much for the quick replies. As for a thread in Roll Call..I may. I'm not sure as though i'm a huge Freya and Fratley fan, most of the fan art and such I order or have in the works isn't suitable for this site and might upset a lot of folks. But it's good to have a place to talk about everyone's fav rodents.
-Drake: I had thought about that, plus given the fact that they are..well rats and may have a breeding cycle that would make completely wiping them out nigh imposable, but I also thought that their life cycle would play into that too. But again we are dealing with fantasy after all and SE never really got in too deep. I'm pretty much of the mindset that Kuja might have gotten at least 40, maybe even 50%. The Cleyrans, I agree on you there, as they all were in that one area, it's unlikely many of them would have lived.
-Robshi: I remember Kal and Wei, they were my biggest reasoning behind trying to counter the rising discussion i've seen every so often that Burmecians aren't rats, they are dragons, I've always pointed to those two as more proof that they are rats, their number of children is typical for a rat brood after all.
-Arsonette: Possible, Even these days, showing huge cities full of people is often very taxing on a system and is almost never shown, save for MMORPG's.
Anyone know where there might be in game images of the shown 'remaining Burmecians?

Um, we did bring up a point that the children you see with Kal and Wei may be orphans, since they're already old enough to be walking around and playing and because of their sheer number. Then again, Square may have been lazy and not bothered with a Burmecian baby game model.
A clear point against the Burmecians being Dragons thing is all of the references to them as rats throughout the game. That, plus they have fur and rats tails.
If you want pics of surviving Burmecians try looking through the Freya Crescent Shrine for some.
