If there's one thing we can all agree upon here, it that you can never get enough Freya And if you're like me, you've read pretty much every Fanfiction.net story where Freya was even mentioned, as well as saved almost every last Freya and Burmecian fanart from Deviantart to your harddrive. So where else can you go to feed your Freya habit? How about the source, Japan? I've found going through Japanese FFIX fansites, with the aid of translation tools like Google Translate and Excite, to be quite intriguing. Of course, with a machine translation most of what you read will still be gibberish, but sometimes you can a rough idea of what is being said.
I was heartened to find that Freya seems to be a fairly popular character among Japanese FFIX fans, judging at least from the amount of Freya-centered fanfic I've found. Heres a link to a fansite with a ton of Freya fics:
translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww2.odn.ne.jp%2F~ccm90660%2Findex.html&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ja&tl=en
This site isn't Freya based, but it contains a detailed and intricate timeline of Burmecia, dating from the beginning of Gaia, to the origin of the Dragon Knights, to the events of FFIX. It also has timelines for Cleyra and the other kingdoms. translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Ftotscqcc.hp.infoseek.co.jp%2Findex.html.htm&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=ja&tl=en
These are hardly the only fansites I've come across that are of interest to Freya and Burmecian fans, but you get my point. Odds are most of the posters here are probably already familiar with the Japanese sites, but I wanted to point them out to anyone who wasn't. If you haven't already, check them out, you can find great fanart, and fanfic that will make you wish you could read Japanese!
