I just got promoted to assistant manager - and it's a small store (less than a dozen total employees), so that means whenever the general manager isn't in, I'm in charge. I just got the offer today, so it's not official yet, but yeah. I'm equal parts anxious and excited; the former because it's quite a bit of added responsibility for not much extra money, the latter because I do need some managerial experience of some sort. And I'm also nervous because I have the (somewhat) irrational belief that, when anything good happens to me, it must shortly after be accompanied by something at least equally bad. That, and being in charge means being responsible for the bad as well as the good. Anyways. Just thought that was something noteworthy.

Congratulations Lancer! I bid you the best of luck on your new position =3. Oh, and... And I'm also nervous because I have the (somewhat) irrational belief that, when anything good happens to me, it must shortly after be accompanied by something at least equally bad. That, and being in charge means being responsible for the bad as well as the good. I've been experiencing the same exact thing for years...interesting, is it not?

Good luck with the new job Lancer!
I don't believe that good is necessarily followed by bad. I( have exceptionally good days and really horrible days with no warning. Seeing squirrels an be an indicator when I'm at uni though.
I also believe 2009 will be a good year. Can you guess why?
