It's always been a elusive dream, but with the recent snow and traffic chaos where I live, it might no longer be a vain hope. The forecast is for snow tomorrow evening, and there's plenty of snow lingering from the past few days, it may actually happen this year! How's the weather been for you guys?

Nothing tonight, but possibly snow changing into rain on Christmas night.

I've never, ever, ever had a white Christmas that I can remember...not since Maine, anyway, and that doesn't count since I don't remember it because I was maybe six when we left the state. But finally, and in Texas of all places, it looks like I'll get one. As I speak it's snowing great large flakes, and in the past half hour it's begun to accumulate...with the temperature at freezing and dropping. forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Haslet&state=TX&site=FWD&textField1=32.9582&textField2=-97.3397Oh, sure - one year, we got over a foot of snow the day after Christmas, but never ON Christmas. This year is different. Only drawback? I work tonight. 3-6:30 pm. While I'm confident in my ability to drive on snow and even ice-covered roads, and in my car to handle it, I'm not so confident in the abilities of the other local drivers. We generally get accumulations of snow and ice a few times a year, and while driving I'll see numerous 4x4s, pickups, and SUVs spun out on the side of the road while I drive placidly by. That's likely why - they're overconfident in their "all-terrain vehicle"'s capabilities and push too hard. Anyway, one final note about southern ice: it melts a little during the day, then refreezes all the slicker at night. So I suppose maybe the spun-out drivers deserve some slack...but then again, I handle it every year in my front-wheel drive nine-year old Camry (167k miles/267,000km now). ...naturally, now that I've said that, first thing I'll wind up doing is spinning out on the side of the road.

I daren't walk over slick ice, never mind drive over it. I've nearly landed on my butt in the snowy concrete a few times whilst taking my dog. Be careful Lancer, I've heard in the news here of a bus toppling over and killing some people. And the best driver in the world can get into an accident easily when idiots are out on the road...

No white christmas over here, it snowed for about 3 days at the beginning of december and then it rained and washed all the snowed away, now it's very slippery over here.
