...agreeing to become Queen of Burmecia?
I ask this after reading the first two chapters of Dragon Tail by Scales, and I know many of you wouldn't touch the Stories board even if we had Freya and Fratley posing in undergarments in there.
I couldn't see Freya doing that, since I feel she'd rather be actively taking part in the field than sitting on a throne giving orders and having everyone else worrying about her. What do you guys think?

Personally, I don't think she would view herself worthy enough for the position, as she beats the hell out of herself for not doing enough for Burmecia as is. I believe she would remain as a protectorate.

I'm with Hadrian. But that begs the question...who, then? There aren't many Burmecian characters, and none of them seem like they'd either do well in command or (in the case of Freya) simply wouldn't take to being royalty. Of course, now I have to write a story. =P Maybe. Probably. Possibly. Non-zero chance.

My first guess would be Puck with an advisor, or just the royal advisor or a respected Priest filling the role at a basic level until Puck was old enough, and persuaded into taking the role.
Failing that...they'd need a whole new royal family... Maybe a government would form to take the role of leading the nation. I guess it would largely be Dragon Knights and those closest to the King before the war.

Yeah, I think some type of council would form until a solution would come about for the whole heir situation.

Because frankly, I can't see Puck commanding anything larger than a small street gang. =P Not unless something major happened to almost totally change his character. A council would seem a sensible temporary solution, and I CAN see Freya being willing to lead that.

Not unless something major happened to almost totally change his character. Growing up, perhaps. I couldn't imagine that kid hopping right onto the throne after all that had happened (When evidently, he couldn't even grasp the magnitude of his heritage anyhow, nor give a damn). I'm speculating a council formed out of the remaining dragon knights and whoever else has a good idea of what the hell to do next. *realizes that he just re-iterated basically everything Robshi said* ...Damn, I have stop doing that ><.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm inclined to think that Puck is exactly the kind of leader Burmecia needs during its reconstruction, someone cunning and worldly, with a good understanding of the human kingdoms culture. I think the reason Burmecia wasn't as advanced as the other kingdoms was not a lack of intelligence or ability on the Burmecian's part, but rather isolationism, and a stubborn cultural chauvinism i:e, "Airships? Who needs those human-invented floating monstrosities!? Everything we want or need is right here in Burmecia!" With someone like Puck in charge Burmecia will likely modernize, and become a more open, less isolated kingdom.

lol, I misread that post up thar to say Freya was what Burmecia needed. So, deleted the previous contents.
Puck. He could be a good leader...but what could make him come back home, and take up that tremendous responsibility? And how could he earn his peoples' respect after a lifetime of running away from said responsibility? I mean, he can't exactly just walk in and say "Hi guys! I know I never felt like hanging around here or leading you guys before, but I've realized after being totally absent since I was a kid that you guys really need my wisdom and guidance. So just do what I say and we'll be cool, alright?"
Now, I'm not denying that his worldly experience and wide travels would make him well-suited to modernize Burmecia - in fact, I agree with you, it'd make him perfect for it. The only issues are why he'd return to the very thing he fled from as a kid, and how he'd go about earning the title he was born to. I mean, yeah, as he matures and gets older he could well come to realize that Burmecia needs a strong leader again, but it would be no easy feat to return after living in self-imposed exile for so long. It'd make an interesting story...I'm sure somebody's already wrote it, but it's got my wheels turning. On the list, maybe.
And at this point I'm rambling and probably making no sense. =P I blame it on being hungry. Only the garlic-decorated flesh of pizza can sate my beastly urgings!

I actually think that Freya would make a great leader for Burmecia. I mean she is already friends with the royal lines of Alexandria, Lindblum and by technicality Madian Sari and the Black Mage village/Genome Paradise. She knows the responsibility and is patriotic for her homeland but at the same time knows enough about the rest of the world it wouldn't remain so insular. However no matter how good she would be for the role I can't exactly see her putting herself forward for the role. Maybe the other Dragon Knights in their council thingy could vote her their leader etc? I'm sure they would and with her sense of commitment and patriotic pride I'm sure she wouldn't say no to their requests....

I don't believe Burmecia needs a ruler 0.0, the only Burmecians KNOWN to still be living are
Freya, Fratley, Puck, The Couple Zidane Rescued, and their kids.
The only Burmecians KNOWN to be living in Burmecia after the games events are
Freya and Fratley.
Add the fact the Burmecia probably won't be rebuilt for awhile..
Technically, at the moment, there is nothing to rule...
I'm over thinking this :/

That's a scarily accurate thought....Holy crap! Burmecia would never exist again! To safely repopulate a species without freaky genetic inbreeding side effects you need at least eerm I think it's 21 men and 14 women? Or it's the other way round...Either way the women would also have to have a kid by each man and then colour co ordinate them so they don't accidently procreate with a half brother/sister.

Well...I remember the couple saying something about the Burmecian's & Cleyran's being scattered... We can only hope that is true...

Yeah, a lot of the Burmecians and Cleyrans did go to different parts of the continent (those that didn't flee to Cleyra) and so I remember some of the Burmecian soliders saying that they were going to try and bring the Burmecians back together, which probably means gather them from all over to rebuild Burmecia :3

Refresh my memory. Burmecian Soldier Dan ate it, right?

Totally. Ate it like a fat kid eats cheesecake. Ate it like a python eats a baby goat. Ate it like a cat eats a cheeseburger.
That is, he died. =P
Realistically, the whole country was almost certainly not wiped out. Even with modern technology, it's incredibly difficult to really wipe a people out when they go into hiding...and the Burmies, besides being apparently reasonably good at escaping and hiding, have plenty of mountains and such to escape into. And you have to account for the numerous small villages and hamlets in the countryside of Burmecia, well outside the capital. Garland's aim wasn't to literally kill everyone; just as many people as he could do in efficiently. So, he went after major population centers: the kingdom capitals. I'm sure he'd roll over any villages in the way, but I don't think he'd waste the time and effort to scour the countryside for every living Burmy...and even if he did, I seriously doubt he could actually find and eliminate them all.

Hmm and add into the equation that rats are notoriously good at escaping maybe there is a kingdom left? Woo! In fact I still need to get a pet rat for my disaster kit...
