I'm surprised that there hasn't been a thread about this yet :o
So, anyway... Awesome game! Some of the best four hours I've spent my life on. A horribly morbid and wonderfully challenging experience that most games fail to live up to. The last hour or so has been one of the best gaming experiences I've had since Deus Ex. My only real complaint is that it's painfully short.
Who else has played this?

You can bet I've played the heck out of it. I couldn't resist, after following all the news around it. All the hubbub surrounding Aperture Science was great fun, too. Especially with the new admin account you gain access to, from inside the game itself. As well, Narbacular Drop (the game that caused Valve to hire this team) was fun to mess around in. I loved all of GLaDOS' dialogue, especially the song. I burst out laughing when I found out it was made by Johnathan Coulton.A question, though. I've gotten the Terminal Velocity achievement, which is really a no-brainer, but I can't figure out where to get the Long Jump one. Is there even any place in particular, large enough to catapult one 300 feet?

I have no idea - my guess is that you have to find a relatively small chasm with teleportable walls and jump through the gates constantly. Haven't really achieved that one myself yet, as I'm struggling with the bonus maps myself.
(Also, you finished the Terminal Velocity challenge? No fair! T_T)

My guess would be that one room towards the end, where you have to get past some (six?) of those sentry bot thingies and get to the tunnel which is way up high. . .
(appologies for the vauge description; I've only played through the game once on a friend's computer.)

Well, a basic rundown is that you're a test subject in a strange place, and forced to do these puzzles involving a gun that can shoot portals onto certain surfaces, that you can move between. Momentum is carried through portals, so you can manipulate gravity to slingshot you, or objects around to do nifty things.
Declan, here's a hint, if you want. 30,000 feet is a VERY long drop. I'm talking around, say, 3 minutes of constant falling.
On a final note, I'm making my way through the advanced stages, myself. However, I'm stuck on the turret room. I'm basically going through the open area "Solid Snake"-style, with the boxes. Any advice on that one?
Lastly, Eud, I have a feeling that Declan has more of the right idea, though I think something like that could be accomplished in the huge turret room.

I've never heard of the game either, but here's something...
Put one portal on the floor, and another portal on the ceiling directly above it. Now jump into the portal on the floor and start falling for eternity...

...I think we've kinda established what that does.

Heres an idea! Put one portal over the turlet. Put another one on your floor. That way, you can poop without leaving your room.
