It's been a while since I've been on a forum, but I wanted to join the shrine after seeing that others shared my fascination with the Cleyran/Burmecian races and Final Fantasy 9 in general.  I honestly just beat the steam port today and was blown off my feet with how well executed the tone, characters, and even pacing turned out.

It was a strange impulse to play the game in the first place. To be honest, I haven't played any of the other main titles aside from 6 and 10, and 10 didn't sit well with me.

Of course, I also gotta mention the best character from FF9 in general: Lady Freya Crescent.  Everything from her slender, regal design--with stylish garbs yet humble posture--got me hooked instantly.

I may ramble more later, but this is only an introduction and I'm glad to be here.  after reading up on lore I may make a char and get plastered at the rp bar soon enough.

Hola HR, welcome to the forum! Glad to see a fellow member who appreciates the FF9 universe and it's inhabitants. I haven't played FF10 myself, but having seen all the memes and forums about it, I feel as tho I dodged a bullet. Closest I ever got from the experience was playing FF Record Keeper, which let's me play from all FF titles. 6 is an excellent title with very memorable characters and story, you got good tastes. Even has a villain that would pair very well with Kuja. They can rule the world together! Also playing the steamport was an excellent way to start the game.

Your assessment of Freya pretty much speaks to the soul of the rest of us, my friend. Couldn't say it better myself. Alas, you won't find too much activity in this forum but the last few of us try out best. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see a new face here and hope you can enjoy what little we can offer!

I haven't played FF6 in a long time, but I've considered replaying it after how moving FF9 was, especially if there is a good remake/port.

As for offerings, I've already read a little of the long running role-playing game you and a few other members set. I've done games where I've played multiple small roles aside from my main chars, but this still seems a bit intimidating to do on an open format.

I apologize if this isn't the board to mention this stuff, but after studying a lot more more I'd like to join, if permissible.

Don't worry about it. It's just fun reading over the posts, if that doesn't sound too creepy. Besides, I'm not exactly too knowledgeable on FF lore outside FF9, Crystal Chronicles, Vague memories of FF6, and Tactics Advance.

So FF9 is the only final fantasy game you've been able to complete? What about Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced? Also never heard of FF Crystal chrome, do you mean Crystal Chronicles?

Oh goodness. My apologies. I usually don't let my phone's autocorrect get the best of me like that. Yes, I did mean Crystal Chronicles.
I did beat Tactics Advanced a long time ago. The combat was fun, but the story was hilarious.
I could beat other FF games (I hope) if the story and setting stick with me. It's moreso that I played a lot of these games at friend's houses when I was young. I may try FF6 again when I have the time.

What is Chrystal Chronicles like? I never played it, is it any good? If you want to get back into the other FF games, you can always download an emulator and game roms to play for free. Since you played FF9, I recommend FF7. I'm aware it's one of the most overhyped titles in the series, but there is a good reason for that. In my opinion anyways. Just like FF9, the music and story captivated me.

Crystal Chronicles is fun if you have friends to play it with. It's a co-op game that requires the Gameboy Advance hookups, so the resource barrier to entry is already high.

Funnily enough, the GBA control scheme is a bit stifled. However, the game overall is very fun, well-designed, and great to look at.

Someone'll have to carry the bucket, though.
